We areĀ seekingĀ aĀ highly motivated AI Platform / AI Product EngineerĀ to join theĀ Aladdin AI Engineering team. In this role, you will help build and evolve the AI ecosystem that powers Aladdin, enabling intelligent, scalable, and responsible AI solutions across investment, operations, and data science workflows. You will work closely with distributed engineering and product teams to transform advanced research and AI capabilities into production‑grade platform services.Ā

Key ResponsibilitiesĀ 

  • Design and build the next generation of Aladdin’s AI‑enabled investment management platform, supporting the full investment lifecycle and research workflows.Ā 

  • Build, evolve, and extend AI/ML platform services byĀ leveragingĀ existing AI infrastructure and frameworks.Ā 

  • Design, implement, and integrate scalableĀ APIs and microservicesĀ to support AI‑driven use cases across the Aladdin application ecosystem.Ā 

  • Develop and deployĀ LLM‑powered and agentic AI systems, from concept through production.Ā 

  • Translate business and functional requirements into robust, scalable technical designs.Ā 

  • Collaborate closely with product engineering, data science, and platform teams to deliver end‑to‑end AI solutions.Ā 

  • Apply strong software engineering practices across the SDLC, including design reviews, code reviews, testing, documentation, and production support.Ā 

  • Contribute to platform resilience and operational stability through monitoring, debugging, and Level‑2 production support.Ā 

  • Work effectively in aĀ multi‑office, multi‑countryĀ Agile environment and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering workflows.Ā

Required QualificationsĀ

AI / ML‑Specific QualificationsĀ 

  • Experience buildingĀ AI‑driven applications,Ā including solutions thatĀ leverageĀ large language models (LLMs), AI Agents, agentĀ toolsĀ and agent skills.Ā 

  • Hands‑on experience withĀ LLM frameworksĀ such asĀ LangChain,Ā LlamaIndex, or Semantic Kernel.Ā 

  • Experience with Google Agent Development Kit (ADK) or comparable agent frameworks, including designing, orchestrating, and operatingĀ agentbasedĀ systems in production.Ā 

  • Experience leveragingĀ AInativeĀ code editors and IDEs (e.g.,Ā CopilotenabledĀ IDEs,Ā agentassistedĀ development environments, or similarĀ AIaugmentedĀ tooling) to improve developer productivity, code quality, and delivery velocity.Ā 

  • Understanding ofĀ agentic AI architectures, including multi‑step reasoning, orchestration, and tool‑based execution.Ā 

  • Experience withĀ prompt engineering and prompt tuning, including iterative improvement based on feedback and performance.Ā 

  • Familiarity withĀ ML model evaluation, including monitoring accuracy, reliability, and behavioral drift over time.Ā 

  • Experience working with or integratingĀ vector databasesĀ (e.g.,Ā Faiss, Chroma) as part of AI solutions.Ā 

  • Understanding ofĀ MLOpsĀ concepts, including ML lifecycle pipelines, deployment, observability, and operationalization.Ā 

  • Awareness ofĀ responsible AI considerations, including governance, safety, and reliability when deploying AI systems at scale.Ā

Core Engineering QualificationsĀ 

  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.Ā 

  • Associate level:Ā 2+ years of relevant experienceĀ 

  • Strong hands‑on experience withĀ object‑oriented programming, particularlyĀ Java and Python.Ā 

  • Proven experience designing and buildingĀ scalable APIs and microservicesĀ in a production environment.Ā 

  • Strong understanding ofĀ distributed systems fundamentals, including service boundaries, reliability, and scalability.Ā 

  • Familiarity withĀ event‑driven architecturesĀ and messaging frameworks such asĀ Kafka.Ā 

  • Experience working withĀ cloud platformsĀ (Azure preferred; AWS or GCP acceptable).Ā 

  • Knowledge ofĀ containerization and orchestration technologiesĀ such asĀ Docker and Kubernetes.Ā 

  • Experience withĀ relational and NoSQL datastores, including Cassandra.Ā 

  • Strong understanding ofĀ Agile development practices, including collaboration, code reviews, testing, and documentation.Ā 

  • Ability to reverse‑engineer existing systems and work effectively in complex, evolving codebases.Ā 

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical decisions and align across stakeholders.Ā 

For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$145,000.00 - USD$190,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
