CAFCO Group seeks an experienced Assistant Project Officer Level III to serve as a senior essential member of the project team supporting New York City School Construction Authority (SCA) capital construction programs. Under general supervision, the successful candidate will coordinate and expedite the development of more complex capital projects, assist with complex projects under the responsibility of Project Officers, and serve as a potential transition to a future Project Officer position.

Required Qualifications:

·         Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, Environmental Services, or a related field
·         Three (3) years of full-time, paid construction work experience
·         Valid New York State driver's license required
·         Demonstrated experience managing multiple complex construction tasks simultaneously
·         Proficiency in construction management software including Procore, PlanGrid, or eBuilder preferred
·         Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills

Key Responsibilities:

·         Perform similar tasks to Assistant Project Officer Level II on more complex and large-scale SCA capital projects, serving as a potential transition to a Project Officer role
·         Coordinate and expedite the development or improvement of complex capital projects under general supervision
·         Ensure quality and high standards of contract performance and compliance in all aspects of assigned projects
·         Assist in making timely decisions and taking actions to expedite completion of the construction process
·         Assist in correcting mistakes and errors before they can be extensively incorporated into projects
·         Negotiate change orders and contracts; prepare and review job status reports
·         Mentor and guide Assistant Project Officer Level I and II staff
·         Visit various job sites as required in the performance of assigned duties
·         Perform other related tasks as assigned
