The Goddard School located at 307 E 63rd street is a brand-new center seeking motivated and caring schoolwide assistant teachers for our school, which will serve children between the ages of 6 weeks and 5 years old

Our two-story, 15,000 sq. ft. center will be home to clean, bright, and spacious classrooms, two well-equipped multi-purpose rooms, and much more, all built from the ground up to foster children's natural curiosity through play-based activities, encouraging teamwork, problem-solving, and a lifelong love of learning.

As an Employee, you will receive the following benefits:
  • Twenty-Seven (27) paid personal days per year as follows:
    • Ten (10) paid personal days per calendar year
    • Five (5) paid personal days between Christmas and New Year's Day when the school is closed
    • Seven (7) paid holidays per calendar year.
    • Five (5) sick days per year (available to all employees, accrual starts with no waiting period)
  • Up to 100% tuition reimbursement subject to performance, commitment and reliability

Assistant Teacher Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans
  • Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through active engagement and positive interactions
  • Prepare classroom materials and ensure a safe, clean and inviting learning environment 
  • Supervise and provide individualized support to children and foster a sense of belonging
  • Assist in communicating with families about their child’s progress and daily activities
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations to ensure a secure environment
  • Support daily care routines and tasks to promote a nurturing learning environment
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred
  • Previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting 
  • Shows empathy and compassion for young children
  • Works productively without supervision
  • Basic understanding of child development
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children
  • Must pass required state background checks and meet state minimum education, experience and credential requirements
