Job Description

What is the opportunity?

We are looking for an experienced Investment Banking Associate to join our Financial Institutions Group (FIG) in Insurance and / or Asset & Wealth Management coverage.

What will you do?

  • Provide comprehensive financial analysis and advisory support on transaction execution, new business presentations and meetings, and other such duties
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis on industry trends, regulatory developments, and strategic positioning within insurance, asset management, and wealth advisory sectors
  • Coordinate with Industry, Product and other groups to evaluate and originate new business ideas/opportunities
  • Proactively identify operational risks/ control deficiencies in the business
  • Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your business activities
  • Escalate operational risk loss events, control deficiencies and risks that you identify to your line manager and the relevant risk and control functions on a timely basis

What do you need to succeed?

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Investment Banking, of which at least 3 are in the FIG space
  • Solid understanding of capital markets and spreadsheet modeling
  • Outstanding quantitative and qualitative analytical skills; strong knowledge of finance and accounting
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills with ability to maintain relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Maintains high standards of professional and ethical conduct, demonstrates ability to represent RBC in community and industry activities
  • FINRA Series 79 and Series 63 licenses
  • Bachelor鈥檚 degree and MBA, MA, or MS or equivalent emphasis in finance/accounting

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $175,000-$225,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate鈥檚 experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs.聽聽This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
