Business Unit Overview
The Americas Institutional Businesses (AIB) is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with sophisticated institutional investors. Across the US, Canada and LatAm, AIB is focused on helping pensions, universities, non-profits, family offices, healthcare systems and other institutional investors meet their financial goals and serve their constituents and communities. We are comprised of teams of professionals with expertise spanning many functions working together to meet the unique needs of our clients including relationship management, marketing, sales, client service, and product development and management. Professionals within AIB work together to deliver a full range of asset management, risk management and advisory services supporting our clients’ investment objectives.

Job Description
BlackRock’s Pensions team is a growing business, offering institutional clients access to leading global investment solutions across active, passive, alternatives, multi-asset, cash management and technology. This position offers the opportunity to join one of the world’s leading asset management firms and be an important part of future growth.

As an Associate on the Pensions team, the individual will be a key member of dedicated client teams, partnering closely with senior Relationship Managers to deliver investment solutions and exceptional client service. The role provides broad exposure to sophisticated institutional investors, investment strategies across public and private markets, and teams throughout BlackRock.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and maintenance of strong relationships with pension clients and prospects, working closely with senior Relationship Managers to deliver the firm’s capabilities and serve as a key point of contact for clients.
- Develop an understanding of clients’ investment objectives and work with Relationship Managers and partners across BlackRock to identify tailored solutions to meet their needs.
- Support the identification and pursuit of new investment opportunities through consultative dialogue with clients and prospects, with a focus on strategic products for the group and opportunities with meaningful commercial potential.
- Work collaboratively with partners across BlackRock to meet clients’ needs and objectives, including coordinating investment expertise, client materials and follow-up across the firm.
- Contribute to broader Pensions team priorities and initiatives while continuing to develop investment knowledge, client relationship skills and commercial acumen.

Qualifications
- 2+ years of relevant experience in institutional asset management, relationship management, investment consulting, fundraising or a related field.
- Strong interest in financial markets and institutional investing, with a desire to develop expertise across a broad range of traditional and alternative investment strategies.
- Understanding of the needs and investment considerations of institutional investors; experience working with pension plans is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly and concisely communicate investment concepts, market views and client-specific information.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize complex investment and portfolio information.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build credibility and effective working relationships with clients and colleagues across the firm.
- Collaborative and team-oriented approach to a relationship management, sales and service model.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- BA/BS degree in a related field such as Economics, Finance or Accounting.
- Has, or is willing to obtain, the SIE, Series 7, and Series 63 licenses.

Our hybrid work model
