What you’ll do in the role:

Morgan Stanley Investment Management Inc. is seeking an Associate, Private Real Estate Fund Marketing Specialist in New York, New York to support all aspects of investor relations, business and product development, and marketing / fundraising activities, including market research on funds, product structuring, internal product approvals, premarketing, marketing, and the preparation of marketing materials, offering memorandums, competitor information, and tracking prospect pipelines. Create, maintain, and coordinate the updates of marketing materials and collateral for the overall Real Assets and Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing platforms and specific fund strategies, both standard and customized, including marketing presentations. Create and maintain various excel workbooks maintained by the COO team for various platform reporting and tracking purposes. Provide day-to-day support to the Investor Coverage and Sales/Marketing teams. Coordinate, draft, and ensure completion of investor requests and queries, Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), reporting requests, both recurring and ad hoc, in coordination with, the Investment teams, Fund Portfolio Management, Legal, Compliance and the Investor Services team. Support the planning, preparation and implementation of various investor meetings and / or marketing events. Maintain prospective investor lists, tracking activities and follow up as appropriate. Research investor prospects. Maintain data rooms for marketing purposes and websites, including relevant updates.

What you’ll bring to the role:

-Requires a Bachelor’s in Business Analytics, Economics, or a related field of study.

- Requires three (3) years of experience in the position offered or three (3) years of experience as an Analyst, Tax Consultant, Transfer Pricing Consultant, or a related role

-Requires one (1) year of experience with the following skills:

  • Drafting institutional client Due Diligence Questionnaires and Request For Proposals for private real estate funds;
  • Gathering and summarizing platform, team and fund portfolio level data used in written documents and client questionnaires;
  • Performing market research on real estate fund competitors and portfolios including reviewing public documents and financial statements;
  • Fund structuring techniques essential for optimizing capital raising and mitigating risks;
  • Private real estate fund industry including assessing competitive landscape and private equity real estate products, including non-traded real estate investment trusts and funds from Section 3(c)(7) of the Investment Company Act;
  • Qvidian, Salesforce, Loopio and Seismic; and
  • Online platforms including Preqin and Cambridge.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $150,000 and $160,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
