As we continue to grow, we are looking for a detail-oriented, experienced bookkeeper to join our team and support our financial operations in NY

Position Overview:
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable and receivable, bank and credit card reconciliations, job wrapping, and financial record keeping. This role will report directly to the Founder and also support payroll, HR, and insurance administration for a small team of 4-6 employees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software
  • Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), including invoicing and payment tracking
  • Perform job wrapping to ensure proper allocation of project costs and revenues
  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions monthly
  • Support payroll processing and compliance, liaising with payroll providers as needed
  • Assist with HR administrative tasks, including benefits administration and insurance coordination
  • Collaborate closely with the founders on financial reporting and budgeting
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and internal policies
  • Identify opportunities to streamline bookkeeping and financial processes
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably in a small agency or creative industry setting
  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles, AP, AR, bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Experience with job wrapping or project cost allocations is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with payroll, HR practices, and insurance administration in small businesses
  • Proficient with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, FreshBooks) and MS Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record keeping
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to report financial information clearly
  • Understanding of the fashion and advertising industries
