Job Description Summary

We have an opening for a Business Development Designer in our New York office.

The Business Development Designer will be responsible for implementing the firm's visual brand identity across print and digital assets. This role will design and produce materials for impactful external and internal communications for business development/marketing and recruiting purposes, under the guidance of the Design Manager and Design Director.

This role will help translate brand standards into polished, consistent and effective creative across channels, supporting the materials, templates, campaigns and experiences that shape how clients, attorneys and staff engage with the brand.

This is a strong opportunity for a Business Development Designer with solid fundamentals, strong attention to detail and good creative judgment to grow within a collaborative in-house team while contributing to work with meaningful visibility across the firm.

 

 

Job Description

In this capacity, the Business Development Designer will:

  • Develops and maintains a consistent visual voice across all creative materials, ensuring strong brand alignment and elevated creative standards;
  • Produces brand-aligned assets across print, digital, social, event, experiential and corporate channels, including business development materials, thought leadership, campaign assets, email graphics, recruiting materials and client-facing collateral;
  • Creates, adapts and maintains design templates and other core brand assets to help ensure consistency, efficiency and high-quality execution across the firm;
  • Supports the design and production of event materials and brand activations, including invitations, and develops engaging graphics, layouts and infographics;
  • Coordinates with editors, illustrators, photographers, printers, freelancers and other resources as needed on assigned projects, and prepares files for print and digital production with accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Partners with the design manager, design director, business development and marketing colleagues to execute work that supports firm priorities;
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work relationships with others; and
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Proficiencies:

  • Strong typographic and layout skills;
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with a critical eye for accuracy and consistency across every deliverable;
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating design fundamentals, including layout, typography, visual hierarchy, color and brand application across multiple formats;
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop; Dreamweaver, HTML coding, video editing and animation experience are a plus;
  • Full working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, with great proficiency in PowerPoint and Word;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, each with specific audiences and objectives, simultaneously and in an organized and timely manner, with tremendous attention to detail;
  • A collaborative working style, openness to feedback and strong communication skills; and
  • A willingness to learn new tools and platforms, and to grow skills across brand design, digital experiences and emerging creative technology.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of graphic design experience, preferably within a brand, in-house creative team, agency or marketing environment;
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience with a strong portfolio (required); and
  • Experience in a professional services or legal environment (preferred).
The salary wage range for New York that we expect to pay for this position is a minimum of $70,000 and a maximum of $88,000 annually. The actual pay wage may vary based on experience or other relevant factors.

The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is exempt meaning it is not overtime pay eligible.
