QualificationsChelsea Piers Fitness is looking to hire a skilled Carpenter to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for special projects including, but not limited to, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and electrical. If not on a project, you will assist with general maintenance in the facilities. This role reports to the Operations Director. Your primary work location will change and be split between the fitness facilities. This role is guaranteed 40 hours per week, 5-10 hours overtime available and encouraged. Five (5) days in person. General Hours are 7am-4pm but early morning, nights, overnights and weekends may be required as needed for projects. As the skilled Carpenter, you will be expected to: Oversee general maintenance of facilities Work regularly with in-club maintenance technicians and Operations managers Coordinate with Operations Director for special projects Maintain cleanliness of the shop and proper function of all equipment and tools. Ensure all employees are working in a safe and proper manner including wearing and using all required safety gear and PPE Communicate and report any incidents or problems that arise in completing work assignments Plan and order materials for the efficient completion of work assignments Conduct inspections of sites and submit work orders for deficiencies Assist and educate facility technicians on trade knowledge This is not a comprehensive list of responsibilities. This can change at any time at the discretion of your supervisor. About You: You have at least 10 years of experience in maintenance or construction environments. You also have: Valid NYS driver’s license OSHA-10 and OSHA-30 certifications (or willingness to obtain). Certification for ladder, scissor lift, and scaffolding safety (or willingness to obtain). Flexible availability, including occasional holidays, weekends, and overnight work. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Good work ethic and adaptability
