The Role:Â
The Chargeback and Reconciliation Officer role is a unique position within the Acquiring Solutions department, solely responsible for researching and resolving customer chargebacks and reconciling them to accounts. The role includes performing all duties related to chargebacks, dispute representation, and recovery of amounts in fraud disputes. May also compile aggregate statistics on chargebacks for use by the company in identifying patterns and improving overall customer service. Â
The role will be in our office in New York City, NY 10022, and we are currently offering a hybrid work setup with two work-from-home days.
Job Responsibilities: Â
- Maintain chargeback records every month for all schemes (i.e. Visa, Mastercard, Epal etc) and for all regions.Â
- Perform investigations of cardholder disputed transactions as per card scheme regulations.Â
- Provide accurate and appropriate responses to disputes while adhering to legal compliance standards.Â
- Follow up with the merchants to provide sufficient and compiling evidence.Â
- Prepare direct debit files to recover the amounts lost in disputes.Â
- Reconcile chargeback amounts with the main schemes and to ensure that there are no variances.Â
- Prepare monthly statistics and weekly reconciliation for chargebacks and other schemes.Â
- Any other Ad hoc task assigned by the company.Â
- Identify, develop, and recommend/implement process improvementsÂ
Background:Â
- 2 to 3 years’ experience in acquiring or merchant services or the payments industry or other financial services-related roles.Â
- Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting/business.Â
- Excellent communication skillsÂ
- Must be proficient in ExcelÂ
- Strong aptitude for analytics and affinity towards numbers, as this is a data-driven role, and excellent attention to detail.Â
- Self-driven and strong work ethic will be an ideal characteristic fit for the role.Â

Remuneration:
- $70,000 / Annum + Benefits
Work Authorization:Â Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment and must be able to maintain work authorization for the duration of employment.
