Purpose of Role: 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Litigation Associate with 5+ years of substantive litigation experience, specifically in managing complex commercial litigation matters. The ideal candidate will possess the skills to support partnership as well as independently handle cases across various stages of litigation. This role requires active bar admission in both New York and New Jersey, and familiarity with New York's CPLR, New Jersey’s Rules of Court, the Federal Rules, and other pertinent legal procedures. 

Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage a caseload of complex commercial litigation matters from inception to resolution.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support strategic decision-making.
  • Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, Orders to Show Cause, and other essential litigation documents.
  • Represent clients in depositions and court proceedings, including hearings, trials, arbitrations, and appeals.
  • Maintain effective communication with courts, clients, and opposing counsel.
  • Keep current with legal developments, industry trends, and best practices to ensure high-quality legal representation.
  • Draft articles for publication and assist with marketing practice and firm.
  • Bring drama-free, no nonsense, let’s get to work and have fun attitude to the office.


Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Bar admission in New York and New Jersey required.
  • 5+ years of commercial litigation experience in a sophisticated legal environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management software.
  • Knowledge of e-discovery and electronic documentation management.
  • Self-motivated and analytical, with strong critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong commercial/business acumen with the ability to provide innovative and practical legal solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, and writing skills, with strong academic credentials.

 

Compensation & Benefits: This position offers a salary range of $180,000 - $225,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications. Attorneys may also be eligible for discretionary year-end bonuses, merit-based increases, and origination credit. We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, a 401 (k) retirement plan, paid time off, and access to additional voluntary programs. The posted salary range reflects the base pay range for this position. This position is in-person, full time in our NYC office.
