The Compliance Senior Consultant is a strategic individual contributor role designed to lead and support Corporate Compliance operations and programs. This position will play a critical role in strengthening the organization’s second-line oversight capabilities, advancing key compliance programs, enhancing regulatory responsiveness, and facilitating compliance assessment and remediation efforts across the company.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in the full lifecycle of law change management, including intake of legislative and regulatory updates, impact assessment, communication to appropriate stakeholders, and review of timely, complete implementation.
  • Conduct research and analysis on emerging compliance inquiries, issues, projects, and risks.
  • Support regulatory inquiry and audit responses in partnership with Legal and business leaders.
  • Review regulatory complaint responses across multiple business lines (Claims, Long-Term Care, Underwriting, Surety, Warranty).
  • Contribute to monthly reporting, rate attestation administration, and fines and penalties analysis.
  • Assist with the development and advancement of sanctions, privacy, AI, training, and other compliance programs.
  • Execute spot audits and targeted reviews to assess compliance with regulatory requirements and strength of key controls.
  • Drive risk-based assessment and remediation efforts, including documentation gathering, findings analysis, and resolution coordination.
  • Identify opportunities to develop Testing & Monitoring best practices and standardized reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in insurance, compliance, regulatory affairs, or audit.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret state insurance laws, regulations, and regulatory guidance.
  • Experience interacting with insurance regulators, responding to regulatory inquiries, audits, or examinations preferred.
  • Strong understanding of P&C insurance operations and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience with insurance compliance or risk assessment, auditing, testing, and monitoring preferred.
  • History of supporting cross-functional compliance initiatives.

  • Highly organized and accountable team player with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex regulatory information and effectively interact with internal and external business partners.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Goal-oriented, adept in making connections with business partners, delivers clear messages, is self-disciplined, and understands the insurance industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft CoPilot, and compliance management tools.

In certain jurisdictions, CNA is legally required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. In District of Columbia,California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York and Washington, the national base pay range for this job level is $72,000 to $141,000 annually. Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
