Overview:

Supports the LINE Façade Studio while working independently with guidance, focused exclusively on leading-edge façade and enclosure elements. Contributes and assists in design, engineering, and analysis tasks to advance respective projects. Anticipates job expectations; eager to learn and innovate both standard and emerging techniques or knowledge. Responsibilities:

  • Modifies or creates enclosure sketches, drafted details, 3d models, BIM models, narratives, specifications, reports, and other documentation applying standard architectural and engineering techniques and according to written and verbal direction with general supervision
  • Collaborates with project or team leaders on design and technical resolution of project implementation for a defined portion of a project
  • Performs routine architectural, engineering, and/or energy analysis tasks, including design responsibilities in collaboration with other team members
  • Assists in preparing client presentations and presents project design intent or analysis results
  • Performs product research; assists with enclosure material selection and system research
  • Communicates with other disciplines, vendors and contractors to incorporate information into design, project requirements, and documents as needed
  • Provides guidance and direction to entry-level staff as appropriate
  • May support research of code requirements and engineering standards
  • May attend on-site visits, field reviews, client meetings, or project meetings and document these visits as appropriate
  • May assist in preparing proposals, presentations, schedules, physical samples, or physical models
  • May participate site or factory inspection, audit, or test oversite visits

Qualifications:

  • Accredited professional degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field
  • Actively pursuing Architectural or Engineering Registration
  • Typically with 3-5 years of experience
  • Sustainable design accreditation preferred
  • Knowledge of scripting and parametric modeling software such as Grasshopper, Ladybug Tools, Dynamo, Python, C# preferred
  • Awareness of structural analysis software such as Strand, Solidworks, SJ Mepla, Ansys Mech preferred
  • Proficiency with thermal engineering software such as LBNL Window, LBNL Therm, LBNL Optics, WUFI, WUFI Mould Index VTT
  • Proficiency with optical, lighting, and daylighting design software such as RADIANCE, Climate Studio, EVALGLARE, Acelerad, Ladybug Tools, ALFA, LARK preferred
  • Proficiency with architectural software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks and 3D modeling preferred
  • Experience in Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup and InDesign graphic software preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite preferred
  • Knowledge of sustainability and integrated design guidelines
  • Knowledge of QA/QC process and building codes
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, concise and professional manner both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to problem solve and collaborate on innovative solutions
  • Ability to work in team environment
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines at expected quality
  • Travel may be required.
