Overview

RTW Communications has built a multi-format content engine spanning investor blogs, a flagship podcast series, executive social media, video, and paid campaigns reaching institutional investors, portfolio companies, biotech executives, and scientific leaders worldwide. Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Digital Media Manager owns the digital activation layer of that program, translating communications strategy into measurable audience growth and engagement across every channel.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Strategy and Execution

  • Drive RTW's social media strategy across LinkedIn, X (Twitter), and Instagram, applying the distinct role of each platform: LinkedIn for targeted institutional audiences, X for broad reach and real-time biotech engagement, and Instagram for culture and brand building.
  • Function as a true social media native: stay ahead of algorithm changes and format-specific best practices, and apply that knowledge independently. Within established brand guardrails, make operational platform decisions autonomously; escalate to the Director of Communications any decision involving executive positioning, portfolio companies, investment themes, or compliance sensitivity.
  • Develop and manage a monthly social content calendar and maintain consistent, high-quality publishing across RTW's firm account and select executive channels.
  • Demonstrate fluency in digital media KPIs across organic social, paid campaigns, email, and web, including reach, engagement rate, CTR, CPM, conversion, and earned share of voice.

Paid Social and Campaign Management

  • Plan, execute, and optimize paid social campaigns across LinkedIn and X, including A/B testing across creative formats, copy, and audience segments.
  • Own campaign KPIs end to end: define goals, monitor performance, manage budgets, and deliver regular reporting with actionable optimization recommendations.

Website Management and Optimization

  • Own the RTW website in its entirety: content management, design updates, vendor relationship management, UX improvements, and GA4-driven content and conversion recommendations.
  • Own RTW's SEO and GEO (generative engine optimization) strategy, ensuring the site is optimized for both traditional search and AI-powered discovery tools.

Content Subscription Platform and Audience Development

  • Launch and manage RTW's content subscription and marketing platform, including audience segmentation, subscriber journey design, and email marketing campaigns, ensuring full compliance with CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and Reg FD.
  • Track and report on email performance metrics including open rates, CTR, and list growth, with recommendations for ongoing optimization.

Content and Podcast Production

  • Write and edit social media copy, campaign content, email subject lines, and newsletter content, maintaining RTW's voice and compliance standards. Create or direct digital graphic assets in Canva for social and digital use.
  • Coordinate the full RTW podcast production pipeline with the Director of Communications and external vendors, including content briefs, guest recruitment, review cycles, publication timelines, and social amplification.
  • Route content through the RTW Comms review workflow, ensuring all material moves through the appropriate executive and compliance review sequence with clear priority designation before publication.

The listed responsibilities are not comprehensive, and additional tasks may be assigned as required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5 or more years of experience in digital media, social media strategy, or content marketing, preferably in healthcare, biotech, financial services, or B2B professional services.
  • Demonstrated expertise as a true social media native: deep knowledge of platform algorithms, content formats, and engagement best practices across LinkedIn, X, and Instagram, with the ability to identify trends and adapt strategy independently.
  • Strong digital media analytics fluency: comfortable defining KPIs, building performance dashboards, and translating data into strategic recommendations across social, paid, email, and web.
  • Experience with Google Analytics 4 (GA4) for web analytics, content, UX, and SEO recommendations.
  • Familiarity with SEO and generative engine optimization (GEO) best practices.
  • Website content management experience, including end-to-end ownership and vendor relationship management.
  • Experience coordinating video production or podcast pipelines with external producers.
  • Graphic design fluency in Canva or equivalent.
  • Exceptional written communication skills for sophisticated professional, scientific, and investor audiences.
  • Experience managing a CRM or email marketing platform end to end, including audience segmentation and CAN-SPAM/GDPR compliance; experience with HubSpot or equivalent a plus.
  • Experience in digital health, biotech, life sciences, or financial/investment communications preferred.
  • Familiarity with compliance-sensitive content environments (SEC, FINRA, Reg FD, or pharma/healthcare regulatory frameworks) preferred.
  • Must be able to work from RTW's New York City office.

The base salary for this New York-based position ranges from $140,000 to $170,000, depending on experience, skills, and responsibilities. Actual salary may vary based on qualifications and the level at which the role is hired. In addition to the base salary, the role includes a discretionary incentive compensation program, and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical and life insurance, retirement plans, tax-free savings options, and access to additional healthcare programs.
