LOCATION: 80 Pitt Street (New York, NY)

SALARY: $39,000 - $42,000 Annually 

SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 8am - 4pm

DATE: February 2026

JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Dishwasher/maintenance staff employee is responsible for performing dishwashing tasks to properly wash and sanitize all dishes and china, silverware, glassware, utensils and cookware. In addition, the staff will assist the full-time custodian to keep the center premises and its equipment in clean, safe and good conditions.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum - High School Diploma/GED required
  • Experience operating a commercial dishwasher and sanitizing dishes, pot and pan.
  • Previous related experiences in general janitorial duties, such as cleaning, paining.
  • Written and verbal skills for effective communication
  • Ability to multitasks, able to handle multiples priorities
  • Demonstrate good judgement, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Friendly and cheerful personality to maintain cooperative interactions with staff & program participants

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up and maintain the dishwashing and pot washing areas.
  • Operate dishwasher machine in accordance with manufacturer instruction
  • Perform dishwashing tasks and sanitize all dishes and china, silverware utensils and pot.
  • Maintain the correct storage of all cookware, glassware and utensils.
  • Clean assigned kitchen equipment including but not limited to stoves, ovens, refrigerators & freezer
  • General maintenance work as directed
  • Daily sweeping and floor mopping 
  • Assist with set up and clean up for events and program classes
  • Received and inspect deliveries as needed
  • Trash collection and disposal as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
