Job Description:

The EDI / IT Manager owns day‑to‑day technical operations across EDI, desktop support, and basic infrastructure administration. This role is designed for a strong hands‑on EDI/IT operator who can stabilize EDI processes, expand EDI onboarding for retail customers and 3PL warehouse partners, oversee IT desktop support, and liaise directly with EDI managed services provider to enhance day-to-day EDI & IT functionality.


You will be the primary technical point of contact for internal teams, external vendors, and trading partners while driving reliability, documentation, and operational discipline.


Primary Responsibilities

  • EDI Operations Management — Manage daily EDI functional flow, error resolution, trading partner connectivity, and mapping coordination for Sales Order Management and 3PL Warehouse Operations.
  • EDI Expansion – Expand EDI capabilities and onboard new customers to improve order flow. 
  • ERP / WMS Support — Support basic ERP/WMS EDI configuration, user access, and issue resolution.
  • System Monitoring & Reliability — Implement monitoring routines for EDI queues, network health, and endpoint compliance.
  • Desktop Support Leadership — Manage Level 1–2 support, ticket triage, hardware/software troubleshooting, and endpoint standards.
  • IT Managed Services Vendor Relations — Function as direct contact to IT managed services provider for network, hardware, software, equipment functionality, ticket resolution, etc. 
  • Vendor & Trading Partner Coordination — Serve as liaison for EDI providers, ERP vendors, MSPs, and integration partners.
  • Security & Compliance Support — Enforce MFA, patching, access controls, and basic cybersecurity hygiene.
  • Process Documentation — Assist to build SOPs, runbooks, and knowledge base articles to prepare for IT Director onboarding.
  • Project Support & Transition Prep — Assist in ongoing IT/EDI projects and prepare the environment for leadership transition.


Primary Skills & Competencies

  • EDI Expertise — 5 years of experience executing EDI standards (e.g. 850/860/810/856/940/945), mapping, customer onboarding, compliance, and retail/wholesale transaction workflows.
  • Desktop & Endpoint Support — Strong troubleshooting across Microsoft O365, Windows, Mac, printers, networks, and user provisioning.
  • ERP / WMS Familiarity — Ability to support basic configuration, permissions, and issue triage. FileMaker or ColdLion experience helpful but not mandatory.
  • Technical Communication — Clear communicator with ability to translate technical issues for non‑technical teams.
  • Process & Documentation Discipline — Skilled at creating SOPs, checklists, and repeatable workflows.
  • Project Coordination — Ability to support cross‑functional initiatives and manage small technical projects.
  • Self-Starter – Strong desire to own and lead the process and execute the results in fast paced entrepreneurial environment.
