We are actively seeking a highly motivated, innovative and experienced individual to join our team as the Facilitated Enrollment & Recertification Specialist. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
Position Summary:
The position is responsible for assisting prospective members with enrolling into Amida Care’s Special Needs Plan and assisting current members with their Medicaid recertification applications by phone and in person. In this dynamic, community-based role, which will function as a facilitated enroller and engage with New Yorkers across diverse neighborhoods, provider sites and community events to help them understand their healthcare insurance options and guide them through enrollment. This position serves vulnerable and special needs populations, working outdoors, connecting with others to support Amida Care’s membership growth. Responsibilities:
- Engage with New Yorkers across diverse neighborhoods, provider sites and community events to help them understand their healthcare insurance options and guide them through enrollment.
- Outreach prospective members received as a lead and /or other sources defined by management.
- Complete and review all applications prior to submitting them to NYSOH marketplace.
- Assist current members with their Medicaid recertification applications by phone and in person.
- Follow departmental protocols to achieve weekly and monthly productivity goals related to Recertification and Enrollment.
- Participate in health-related activities /special events including evening and weekend activities. Events include health fairs, parades, holiday theme events, provider sites, sponsored events and health related theme events as required based on business needs.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with Amida Care external partners such as hospital and provider organizations, City agencies, small businesses and Community Based Organization personnel where enrollment activities are conducted. Develop and strengthen relations to generate new opportunities for Amida Care.
- Explain benefits and services offered by Amida Care as requested or needed when assisting members.
- Accurately document member recertification, and enrollment activities via designated tools including Salesforce, email, and other tools as assigned by management.
- Must meet Quality Assurance standards which include following the enrollment and recertification scripts, all departmental protocols and workflows.
- Ensure that all recertification, enrollment and field activities are performed in compliance with Medicaid regulations and corporate policies
- Ensure that provider sites have updated Amida Care marketing materials.
- Perform all activities in a timely, effective, and efficient way to sustain membership.
- Maintain required equipment/supplies in working order (i.e. business cards, laptop, brochures etc.).
- Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION REQUIRED
- Must have a GED or high school diploma.
EXPERIENCES AND/OR SKILLS REQUIRED
- Two (2) years of experience with facilitating enrollments, assisting with recertification, completing Medicaid applications via NYS Marketplace and/or NY Medicaid CHOICE required.
- Must be able to travel and work in all five boroughs of New York City.
- Must be able to work flexible schedule including weekends and evenings.
- Experience in health care setting preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
- Exhibit ability to learn and work with user-centric electronic systems and tools including a laptop and mobile phone.
- Demonstrate understanding and sensitivity to multi-cultural values, beliefs, and attitudes of both internal and external contacts.
