Responsibilities

  • Ensure all Salvation Army policies, practices and procedures are maintained as per Employee Manual. Use "Time Off" form to record sick time, and to request personal and vacation time. Submit completed forms to CO.
  • Daily sweep leaves, grass, trash from parking lot, 87th and 86th Street sidewalks and curb side.
  • Weekly, complete the attached list. Check off completed tasks, make appropriate notes regarding janitorial supplies needed and property concerns.
  • Take out trash as required with regard to the recycling program.
  • Drive Corps Vehicle as assigned. Including program and maintenance shopping, chauffeur needs.
  • Create a preventive maintenance schedule for all Corps facilities and officer/staff quarters, including maintenance of walls, floorboards, furnishings, carpets and other flooring, painting, equipment, and repair needs. Monitor and coordinate routine maintenance to ensure that all properties remain safe, functional, and well maintained.
  • All requests received by employees from other people must be directed to CCO/CO for approval. No monies a-re to be expended without approval of CCO/CO. Items which need to be ordered must be presented to CCO/CO prior to order so that other facility needs can be included in order.
  • Complete other specified tasks as assigned by CCO/CO verbally and written in addition to weekly checklist. These tasks would include setting up facilities for special events, or special annual cleaning projects.
  • Employee may be asked to supervise volunteers needing to complete community service requirements.
  • Answer telephone in general office as directed, daily from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. As needed.
  • Assist in securing Bid As directed by CCO/CO (handwritten addition)
  • Coordinate all facility and quarters-related inspections and compliance reviews, including preparation, scheduling, meeting with inspectors, and ensure required documentation is available.
  • Communicate inspection findings and recommendations to the Corps Officer (CO), monitor required corrective actions and assist in implementing approved follow-up measures to maintain compliance and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • HS or GED. (Minimum)
  • Valid Driver's License: Experience required in driving 12 passenger van.
  • 1 year in specific field with High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • 3 years of experience preferred.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in the operation of all facility equipment, including appliances, machinery, office equipment, and the Corps Security System.
