Hours: Full-time – 35 Hours

Only candidates who are permanent in the Assistant Civil Engineer title or those who are reachable on the open-competitive list (exam #5015) or filed for the open-competitive exam #7006 may apply. The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Division of Public Buildings, seeks a Facility MEP Assessor. The candidate will be responsible for conducting mechanical, electrical, and plumbing condition assessments in City-owned buildings. The selected candidate will assess and evaluate the building’s performance including energy usage, HVAC equipment, fire protection components, and the building’s overall code compliance, sustainability and resiliency, etc., and outline immediate and potential problem areas so that informed decisions can be made, and priorities can be set. Candidate will record existing conditions; provide code, local laws, and energy analysis and prepare facility assessment reports suitable for sponsor budget planning purposes

Please note: All candidates must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States (U.S.). In compliance with Public Law 99-603, candidates are required to present original documents proving citizenship or the legal right to work in the U.S. DDC is unable to support or sponsor any visa application or visa extension, including but not limited to OPT/STEM visas, H-1B visas, F-1 practical training, permanent residence sponsorship, or any proposed change of visa type. Qualifications

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in civil engineering and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in civil engineering work; or

2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and a Master's degree from an accredited college in civil engineering.
