Financial Control Consultant - AVP

BizTek People is in search for a Financial Control Consultant (AVP) for our client in NYC!

Schedule: Hybrid (3 days onsite per week)

We are seeking an experienced Financial Control Consultant (AVP) to join a dynamic finance team within the financial services industry. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with strong financial reporting, general ledger, and month-end close experience who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform monthly and quarterly close activities in accordance with US GAAP.
  
• Prepare account reconciliations and financial reporting to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and regulatory reporting.
  
• Analyze balance sheet and income statement variances.
  
• Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports for management and key stakeholders.
  
• Support the preparation of internal and external financial reports.
  
• Stay current on accounting standards and ensure compliance in assigned responsibilities.
  
• Develop an understanding of business operations and financial processes.
  
• Partner with internal and external auditors by providing requested documentation and support.
  
• Assist with finance system enhancements and special projects.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  
• CPA designation preferred.
  
• 5+ years of accounting experience in both public and private environments, preferably within financial services.
  
• Strong understanding of US GAAP.
  
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  
• Comfortable working independently and collaborating across teams.
  
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
