The Role
We are hiring a Design Engineer to build the product experiences that define how customers interact with Clark.
This role sits at the intersection of product design and frontend engineering. You'll partner closely with Product, Design, and Engineering to prototype new ideas, build polished interfaces, and ship production-ready experiences.
You should be equally comfortable thinking through user workflows in Figma, building components in React, and refining the details that make software feel intuitive.

The Design Engineer will play a critical role in shaping how customers experience Clark every day.
What You'll Do
Design and build polished, production-quality interfaces across Clark's core product
Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering to turn ideas into thoughtful, high-quality user experiences
Build intuitive workflows for AI-powered audit and accounting products
Contribute to Clark's design system, component library, and frontend foundations
Craft exceptional user experiences through strong interaction design, motion, responsiveness, and visual polish
Build with modern frontend technologies including React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS
Optimize for performance, accessibility, and maintainability without compromising user experience
Raise the quality bar for product craftsmanship across the engineering organization
Who You Are
3+ years building modern web applications
Strong experience with React, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and modern frontend frameworks
Exceptional product taste with a strong eye for interaction design and visual detail
Comfortable moving seamlessly between design and engineering
Experience translating product concepts into polished production software
High ownership with the ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments
Strong attention to detail and pride in building products users love
Bonus
Experience building AI-native or agentic products
Experience with design systems and reusable component libraries
Experience at an early-stage startup
Strong motion design or frontend animation experience
Experience building enterprise workflow software or productivity tools
