The Opportunity

As a Manager within EY's Financial Services Subledger practice, you will lead complex finance transformation and technology modernization initiatives for insurance, banking, asset management, and alternative investment organizations. You will work directly with client leadership to deliver investment accounting platform implementations, subledger modernization programs, data transformation initiatives, enterprise reporting solutions, and finance operating model improvements.

You will have the opportunity to lead multidisciplinary teams of business, accounting, operations, and technology professionals to solve complex finance and accounting challenges, improve financial processes, modernize data environments, and implement scalable technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency, data quality, and financial reporting capabilities.

 

Your Key Responsibilities:

Lead finance transformation and technology-enabled accounting initiatives

  • Lead investment accounting, subledger, and financial systems implementation programs across the financial services sector.
  • Manage project workstreams and teams through all phases of the delivery lifecycle, from strategy and requirements through deployment and stabilization.
  • Partner with client executives, business stakeholders, and technology teams to drive solution design, decision-making, and program execution.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operating models, finance processes, controls, and technology capabilities.

Lead accounting, reporting, and data solution design

  • Lead the definition of business, accounting, data, and reporting requirements.
  • Design accounting frameworks, including financial product lifecycles, accounting events, chart of accounts structures, accounting elections, and posting rules.
  • Oversee the development of functional specifications, process documentation, and target-state operating models.
  • Provide guidance on accounting architecture, reporting frameworks, and data governance approaches.

Drive data conversion, reconciliation, and testing efforts

  • Lead data migration, conversion, reconciliation, and validation activities across complex financial systems implementations.
  • Define testing strategies and oversee functional, integration, user acceptance, regression, and parallel testing activities.
  • Guide teams in analyzing accounting and operational data, investigating issues, resolving discrepancies, and improving data quality.
  • Manage risk identification, issue resolution, and escalation processes throughout delivery.

Lead reporting, analytics, and business intelligence initiatives

  • Define enterprise reporting and analytics strategies supporting finance transformation programs.
  • Guide design of Finance Data Marts, reporting, and analytics capabilities to support regulatory, management, and operational reporting.
  • Guide teams in developing business intelligence solutions, dashboards, and reporting frameworks.
  • Partner with clients to improve data accessibility, reporting effectiveness, and decision support capabilities.

Lead solution deployment and client adoption

  • Manage client, EY, and vendor teams through implementation, deployment, and post-go-live activities.
  • Oversee training, change management, business readiness, and adoption activities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders by providing recommendations on process improvement, technology modernization, and operating model enhancements.
  • Coach and develop junior team members while supporting practice growth initiatives.

To Qualify for the Role, You Must Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience supporting finance transformation, investment accounting, subledger technology, financial systems implementation, accounting technology, or management consulting engagements.
  • Experience leading project workstreams and managing teams responsible for delivering complex client engagements.
  • Experience defining business, accounting, data, and reporting requirements and translating them into technology-enabled solutions.
  • Strong understanding of financial services business processes, accounting operations, financial reporting, and data flows.
  • Experience and strong understanding of financial products, including payments, deposits, loans, securities, debt, derivatives, insurance contracts, and reinsurance.
  • Experience leading data migration, reconciliation, testing, or financial systems implementation activities.
  • Experience collaborating with senior business and technology stakeholders in a client-facing environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 25%-50%.

 

Ideally, You'll Also Have

  • Experience with investment accounting and financial platforms such as BlackRock Aladdin Accounting, Eagle, Clearwater Analytics, SimCorp Dimension, or similar solutions.
  • Experience leading ABOR, IBOR, subledger, general ledger, or investment data mart transformation initiatives.
  • Experience within insurance, asset management, banking, wealth management, capital markets, or alternative investment organizations.
  • Experience supporting GAAP, STAT, regulatory, management, or audited financial reporting processes.
  • Experience designing data models, accounting rules, reporting frameworks, chart of accounts structures, or finance data architectures.
  • Experience with business intelligence and analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting technologies.
  • Experience with SQL, Alteryx, Python, Power Automate, cloud data platforms, or related technologies.
  • Experience leveraging AI-enabled tools to improve workflows, conduct analysis, accelerate delivery, and develop communications.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, FRM, PMP, or equivalent credentials.

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business.  The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $125,500 to $230,200.  The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $150,700 to $261,600.  Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.  In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
