The Department of Anesthesiology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a General Anesthesiologist to join our academic anesthesiology faculty as a Clinical Assistant Professor (HS).

Clinical Responsibilities
- Administer anesthesia in the main operating room, ambulatory surgery center, and obstetrical suite, utilizing general, regional, and sedation techniques.
- Provide anesthesia care for a broad range of cases, including general surgery, orthopedics, vascular, robotics (general surgery, GU, GYN), and renal transplant.
- Supervise residents in a 2-OR care team model during daytime clinical assignments.
- Participate in obstetric anesthesia coverage with resident support; low-volume OB service (approximately 400–500 deliveries annually).
- No trauma, cardiac, or neuro anesthesia.

Academic Responsibilities
- Participate in clinical teaching and supervision of residents and medical students.
- Provide classroom instruction and evaluate residents and students in accordance with departmental standards.
- Mentor trainees in research and scholarly activities.
- Contribute to departmental administrative responsibilities.

Call Responsibilities
- 4-call/grid requirement (approximately one call per week).
- Call begins at 3:00 PM.
- Coverage includes main OR and obstetrical suite with support from three residents.
- Occasional urgent or emergent cases.
