The Team:

The Communications department is responsible for strategic deployment of Press & Influencer Relations, Special Events and Advertising across all media channels to support the growth of awareness for Hermès in the US. Our mission is to share the rich story of Hermès, highlighting the value of creativity, commitment to quality and signature craftmanship model. 

 

The Opportunity:

As the Institutional Press Manager, you will contribute to the overall department strategy through your support of the department. 

 

About the Role: 

  • Support Director with all Maison, Equestrian, and Institutional requests and initiatives

    • Administrate the development and execution of a strong, dynamic, and strategic storytelling and product editorial placement in top-tier national and regional publications and newspapers and key digital media outlets in support of increased brand visibility and awareness about Maison, Equestrian, and Institutional métiers 

    • Track pertinent corporate and crisis communications press on the house utilizing media tracking systems and flag to senior team and Paris headquarters when needed 
    • Work with Director to create a strong Corporate Social Responsibility and diversity & inclusion strategy to protect the company from future sensitive situations. Partner closely with internal Corporate Social Responsibility team to ensure proper alignment between press strategy and non-profit focuses
    • Support cross-functional planning for Maison moments, ensuring cohesive storytelling and stakeholder alignment
    • Liaise with Maison and Equestrian press to confirm product loans, work with Showroom Manager to ensure a seamless process is in place 

    • Cultivate relationships with and maintain regular contact with Maison, Equestrian, and regional publication contacts

    • Collaborate with Director on the development of strategic press strategies and guest lists to support house objectives and press engagement 

    • Assist Director with Maison & Equestrian events, store openings, Institutional projects
    • Arrange logistics (including travel, hotel, experiences) for all Institutional, Maison, and Equestrian events 
    • Assist Director in developing a press strategy on store openings with a national and localized media focus 
    • Develop and coordinate any press programs in regard to regional events and store openings 
    • Track coverage and circulate key results pertaining to Maison, Equestrian, Institutional press 
    • Collaborate with team to oversee Press Freelancer day-to-day tasks and contribute to their nourishment

    • Assist Director with budget development, tracking, and invoice processing as needed

About You: 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3-4 years of experience, including hands-on internship, in similar role and/or department
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Proven excellence at meeting long and short-term deadlines
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office 
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Launchmetrics and Meltwater knowledge a plus
  • Experience in corporate/crisis communications a plus
  • Maison (home) and equestrian media a plus

 

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $90,000. Actual rates are determined based on the job, location, and individual experience.
