A leading national law firm is seeking a Patent Litigation Associate to join its expanding intellectual property litigation practice in New York. This opportunity is ideal for a candidate seeking hands-on litigation experience, meaningful client exposure, and the opportunity to work closely with senior litigators on sophisticated patent disputes.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Manage various phases of patent litigation in federal courts.
  • Handle document production and review, discovery strategy, and meet-and-confer discussions.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Work closely with technical and damages experts in preparing expert reports.
  • Draft substantive legal memoranda, motions, and persuasive briefs.
  • Participate in PTAB proceedings, including inter partes reviews (IPRs), when applicable.
  • Collaborate directly with partners and clients on case strategy and litigation planning.

Anticipated Compensation:

  • Expected salary range: approx. $225,000 – $325,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and overall background.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of patent litigation experience at a comparable law firm or IP boutique.
  • Technical background in engineering, software, or computer networking.
  • Degree in Computer Science (CS) or Electrical Engineering (EE) preferred.
  • Strong academic credentials and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • New York Bar admission required.
  • USPTO admission preferred, but not required.
