Position Summary:

The IT Learning and Development Trainer is responsible for delivering engaging technology training programs that support user adoption and effective use of firm systems. This role is part of the IT Learning and Development team and will assist in designing, developing, and delivering training solutions that meet business needs. The Trainer will independently facilitate training sessions, support the development of learning materials, and provide ongoing user support, while continuing to build expertise in instructional design and learning technologies.

This position reports to the IT Learning and Development Manager and requires regular in-office presence in the New York office (at least 3 days per week, or as business needs require).

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support team leaders in identifying training needs and performance gaps, and assist in developing training solutions that align with business goals
  • Deliver high-impact group workshops and personalized one-on-one coaching sessions across both in-person and virtual platforms, including Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
  • Customize and update training materials, including job aids, user guides, and basic e-learning content.
  • Manage training logistics such as scheduling sessions, tracking attendance, and maintaining training records
  • Contribute to the maintenance and organization of content within the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Assist in sending out company-wide communications about technology updates and training initiatives to keep employees informed and prepared
  • Collect and analyze participant feedback to support continuous improvement of training programs
  • Support the testing of new enterprise applications and provide feedback to help improve the end-user experience before rollout
  • Stay current on firm technologies and emerging tools (e.g., Microsoft 365 enhancements, AI productivity tools).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
  • We are looking for a candidate with 2+ years of experience in corporate training, legal or professional services, with a proven track record in blended learning models. (Law Firm experience preferred)
  • Experience with the Microsoft 365 ecosystem (including Teams, OneDrive, and Windows 11) and professional PDF management tools.
  • Familiarity with document management systems (DMS) and other enterprise applications is a plus.
  • A forward-thinking mindset with functional knowledge of AI productivity tools, such as Microsoft 365 Copilot and ChatGPT.
  • Working knowledge of instructional design principles and adult learning theory.
  • Experience delivering training in multiple formats (in-person, virtual, and one-on-one).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • A creative, solution-oriented approach with the ability to champion organizational change and quickly master new software systems.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) is preferred.
  • Ability to travel (approximately 20%) to various office locations to support large-scale technology deployments and on-site initiatives.
