What You'll Be Doing

Under general supervision, the Debt Capital Markets Analyst is responsible for supporting deal teams on debt capital markets transaction origination and execution for financial institution clients. This role will require the analyst to focus on origination, pricing, structuring, modeling, valuation and execution of a full suite of fixed income and preferred products, including senior debt, subordinated debt, and preferred securities.

What We're Looking For

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring markets to determine indicative pricing levels for various debt and preferred products
  • Analyzing trends in the credit and rates markets, including macro-environment and new issue/secondary spread levels
  • Providing modeling and relative value analysis for all transactions
  • Cost of capital and capital structuring analysis for various debt and preferred financing alternatives, including regulatory capital treatment
  • Supporting deal teams on all parts of transaction execution
  • Collaborating with Fixed Income Sales and Syndicate to gather investor feedback on live transactions
  • Tracking debt maturities, call dates, and refinancing opportunities across the coverage universe
  • Supporting rating agency processes, including preparation of ratings presentations and follow-up materials

What You'll Bring

  • Understanding of financial concepts and the fixed income and credit markets
  • Solid work ethic and superior attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple simultaneous project deadlines
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong ability to work in a team-based and entrepreneurial culture
  • Familiarity with investment banking terms and processes

Education & Experience

  • Minimum Required: Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field
  • Minimum Required: 0-1 years as a business analyst or related experience in brokerage industry, experience at a financial services institution preferred

Systems & Technology

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook

Compensation Range

Salary: USD $110,000.00/Yr. - USD $125,000.00/Yr. Actual salaries may vary, and may be based on several factors, including but not limited to each candidate’s qualifications, skills, and overall competencies for the position. The base salary is one component of Stifel’s overall compensation package for each individual employee.
