KP819 - Full-Time Executive Housekeeper - Upper East Side, NYC

Overview

An executive housekeeper is sought for a ~4500 square foot home (2 bedrooms, 3 offices, laundry room, kitchen, living room, dining room, library, and 6 x bathrooms) on the Upper East Side, starting in September. This is a formal home, and the schedule will be 9 am-5 pm Monday through Friday. This role is to replace the principal’s long-term housekeeper, who is retiring.

The principals spend from ~June 14th through early September out of town, and candidates will therefore work a considerably reduced schedule during this time (but will continue to receive their full-time salary).

Responsibilities

• Care for antiques, manage all laundry and dry cleaning for 2 x principals and guests (when applicable), make beds, run miscellaneous errands, assist with packing, light grocery shopping
• Be poised and eloquent when the principal is receiving guests
• Walking and feeding the principals’ 2 x dogs - 1 x in the morning and 1 x in the afternoon: a Shih Tzu (10lbs) and a Labrador (50lbs). There is a dog walker for the evenings.
• Be willing to assist the Chef when the principals entertain
• Be flexible to accommodate the principals’ schedule when they entertain or travel (e.g. staying later 1-2 x per week during Fall, Winter, and Spring)

Qualifications

• Must have at least 5-10 years' verifiable experience working in a similar position
• Experience working in a formal environment with antiques and art
• Must have experience working with pets (specifically, dogs)
• Adept at laundry and care of fine clothing

Requirements

• US passport, Green Card, or EAC 
• Understand the nuances of working in a formal home
• Pet-friendly and happy to walk and feed the principals’ 2 x dogs
• Superlative, verifiable, and preferably long-term references
• Candidates must be team players and work cohesively and harmoniously with the household team (Chef/ Driver/ Dog Walker etc.)
• Available to start in September (and trial in August)

Salary and Benefits

• Base guaranteed salary of up to $125k (~$60/hr) year-round (even when the principals are out of town) + overtime after 40 hours (when the principals are entertaining/ traveling)
• Healthcare (medical, dental, vision), 401k, yearly bonus, and all other industry-standard benefits (i.e., 2 x weeks PTO/ statutory sick days/ Federal holidays and guaranteed hours)
• The principals spend June, July, and August outside of the City, so candidates will be able to work a considerably reduced schedule during this time (but will still receive their full-time salary).
