Employment Type: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Pay Rate: $21.00 - 23.35 per hour, based on experience

Job Responsibilities

  • Work in team-oriented, fast-paced, guest-centric environment
  • Precisely prepare and execute an exciting menu of handmade cocktails.
  • Partner with team members to serve food and beverages that exceed guests’ expectations
  • Accurately take food and beverage order, clear and reset tables, and polish glassware/silverware/flatware
  • Provide friendly, attentive, and efficient service
  • Deliver wine service as detailed by Management 
  • Carry food to guests in a timely manner, speaking to the rule of threes upon delivery
  • Assist in deep cleaning bar when needed
  • Assist in and maintaining beverage pars
  • Available to assist with monthly inventory on period close Sundays.
  • Follow opening, running, and closing sidework responsibilities 
  • Maintain and oversee all aspects of the bar including a cash drawer/POS system, customer consumption and support of your front of house and back of house teammates.
  • Guide guests through menu while demonstrating memorization of food and beverage menus
  • Actively presents as the role model of the bar team. 
  • Memorize and comprehend allergens within menu to aid guests in deciding correct items
  • Maintain cleanliness + sanitization of bar top, bottles, and work space
  • Keep track of cash drawer, providing change for staff when needed
  • Aid Management in daily and monthly inventory counting/duties
  • Ensure quality of all drinks made, training full bar team to execute recipes properly with and without lead bartender present
  • Assists Bar and Sr. Beverage Managers in establishing and maintaining bar pars for outlet
  • Assist and/or lead R&D for seasonal and evergreen cocktail list for the outlets, including batch specs and recipe costing
  • Comfortable holding staff education classes
  • Assisting Bar and Sr. Beverage Manager on execution of marketing and events initiatives inside and outside of the building

Requirements

  • Open availability a must: minimum of 3 days per week, including weekends and holidays, with flexibility
  • Availability on Inventory Sundays to count
  • Passion for hospitality, guest engagement, and serving others
  • 4-6 years full-service, high-volume restaurant experience in a bartending position
  • Ability to articulate an appealing description of every item we offer. Explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods.
  • Strong understanding of communication skills to build trusting relationships with colleagues and guests
  • Maintaining a positive, calm, and collected attitude at all times, under pressure and not under pressure
  • A desire to grow, learn, and be creative
  • Desire to work closely with the marketing team and be on camera for bar related content
  • Must be able to walk up and down stairs - stand for 8 to 10 hours at a time
  • A full understanding of classic cookery, wine, beer, spirits, and classic cocktails
  • Previous experience with restaurant point-of-sales(POS) systems
  • Culinary and/or Beverage Degree/Certification, a plus
  • Hospitality Degree/Certification, a plus

Abilities & Working Conditions:

  • Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware.
  • Train current and new employees following the JAG training guidelines to achieve high performance.
  • Thorough knowledge of menu items and service procedures.
  • Ability to take direction and work in a team environment and to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to speak publicly to staff during preshift and other staff related meetings
  • Must have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated, and organized.
  • This position will spend 100% of the time standing or walking.
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length.
  • Must be able to exert a well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
  • May be required to lift trays of food or food items weighing up to 30 lbs. occasionally.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
