Building markets for the new trading frontier.
Bringing the future into focus.
Rothera is building the premier prediction market in partnership with Robinhood and Susquehanna International Group.
By empowering traders to take positions on the events that shape our world Rothera’s platform harnesses the scale and power of financial markets to produce timely, unique, and effective information discovery for leaders and decision makers to ask and answer their most important questions.
Rothera operates at the frontier, generating market-driven forecasts that turn intuition into insight.
About the role
As a Listings Specialist, you will be the analytical engine behind Rothera's listings pipeline. Rothera needs to evaluate and list thousands of contracts across sports, politics, economics, finance, etc. and every one of those decisions should be backed by rigorous data and process, not intuition.
You will manage the request intake funnel, identify and evaluate the data sources required to evaluate contracts, build the tooling to pull that data programmatically, analyze it to determine which contracts, participants, and event combinations are worth listing, and turn that analysis into clear reports and recommendations for the Listings team. This role has a direct, material impact on what Rothera lists and when. This role is designed for someone who codes well, thinks like a data scientist, and is genuinely curious about the events shaping sports, politics, and economics.
What you'll do
- Manage and evaluate incoming requests, organize the intake pipeline and prepare the business case for new listings.
- Plan new contact release dates and align with stakeholders to meet deadlines.
- Build and maintain programmatic pipelines to ingest, clean, and structure data from sports, economic, election, and financial sources at scale.
- Analyze data to evaluate the viability, demand, and risk of potential new contracts, including which events, participants, and combinations are most likely to generate trading interest.
- Produce clear, data-driven reports and recommendations that directly inform the listings roadmap and prioritization decisions.
- Partner with the Director, Product Management - Listings and the broader Listings and RIMS teams, supplying the analysis that underpins listing decisions and contract specifications.
- Track upcoming events and announcement calendars across sports, politics, economics, and finance to flag data availability, timing, and settlement feasibility for potential listings.
- Build reusable frameworks, dashboards, and monitoring tools so the team can evaluate new listing opportunities on an ongoing basis, not just one-off.
- Collaborate with engineering on data infrastructure needs, including automating parts of the data-gathering and analysis workflow.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience in a data analyst, data scientist, quantitative analyst, or data engineering role, ideally in trading, sports betting, financial services, or prediction markets.
- Strong coding ability, with hands-on experience writing production-quality Python (or similar) to retrieve, clean, and analyze data programmatically, including working with APIs and web-based data sources.
- Strong SQL skills and comfort working with large, messy datasets to extract reliable signals.
- Demonstrated experience producing clear, data-driven reports and recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
- Genuine familiarity with sports (leagues, participants, scheduling), economic announcements (e.g., CPI, jobs reports, Fed decisions), and election processes (primaries, polling, certification timelines), or the demonstrated ability to quickly build that domain fluency.
- Experience or familiarity with prediction markets, or derivatives markets is a plus.
