We are seeking an attorney for our client in New York. This role is primarily focused on representing New York plaintiffs with actions under the Child Victims Act.  Our client is a highly regarded full-service law firm with over 40 years of experience advocating for survivors of catastrophic and traumatic events. Its nationally recognized attorneys are dedicated to delivering exceptional results through diligent, strategic, and compassionate representation. They have achieved successful resolutions in some of the most challenging fields in the industry, including pharmaceutical drug and medical device mass tort product liability litigations, 9/11 World Trade Center and Sexual Abuse cases including BSA and Child Victims Act claims.  

 


Requirements

Experience/Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in plaintiff-side litigation required
  • Experience working in a District Attorney’s office, particularly involving sex crimes or violent crimes, is highly valued
  • Ability to manage a caseload from inception through settlement independently or trial
  • Experience drafting complaints, bills of particulars, discovery demands and responses
  • Experience conducting depositions and reviewing medical records
  • Courtroom experience preferred; admission to Federal Court is a plus (trial experience not required)
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent oral and written communication abilities
  • Comfortable communicating with clients, insurance carriers, courts, and opposing counsel
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in the New York State Bar required

This is an onsite 5 days/week position.  Position will be based in Melville, NY (HDQ) until completion of the NYC office expansion, after which the role will transition to NYC.
