Purpose of Role:

We are seeking a highly organized Litigation Paralegal for our New York City office to support attorneys in personal injury, civil, commercial, employment cases across NJ, NY, and CT courts. You will assist with drafting and reviewing legal documents under attorney supervision, managing discovery, coordinating filings, and supporting case strategy. Strong follow-up, responsiveness, and accurate tracking of billable hours are essential to efficiently managing cases in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and edit legal documents, including briefs, motions, discovery requests, and subpoenas, under attorney supervision.
  • Organize and maintain case files, discovery materials, and evidence.
  • Obtain, review, and summarize medical records, bills, and other case-related documents.
  • Coordinate with clients, medical providers, insurance companies, witnesses, and experts.
  • File documents electronically in state and federal courts via E-Courts and PACER.
  • Assist attorneys with trial preparation, client communications, and case strategy.
  • Prepare settlement packages, trial binders, and exhibits for hearings or trials.
  • Track and report billable hours; assist with invoicing as needed.
  • Support the litigation team with other case-related tasks as required.
  • Flexibility to work overtime to meet deadlines or court requirements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal or legal assistant supporting complex cases.
  • Bachelor’s degree in legal studies, paralegal certification, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required; experience with legal document management, billing, or practice management systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of state and federal court e-filing systems.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills.
  • Polished, professional demeanor with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional accuracy in drafting, proofreading, and managing legal documents.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $80,000–$110,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • Additional Compensation: Eligible for discretionary year-end bonus and merit-based increases based on performance.
  • Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off, based on eligibility.
