Alma Bank is currently looking to hire experienced CRE & C&I Loan Closer to work out of it’s Corporate office in Astoria, NY.

SUMMARY 

The Loan Closer is responsible for preparing, coordinating, and executing the closing and funding of Commercial Real Estate (CRE) and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) loan transactions in accordance with Bank policies, regulatory requirements, and established procedures. This role requires a highly detail-oriented professional who can effectively manage multiple priorities, ensure all closing requirements are satisfied, and maintain a high degree of accuracy throughout the loan closing process. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong work ethic who is dependable, accountable, and committed to providing exceptional internal and external customer service.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review underwriting approvals and loan commitments for each loan file to ensure closing packages accurately reflect approved terms and conditions. 
  • Verify that all closing conditions have been met and all title, legal, and documentation issues have been resolved prior to closing. 
  • Prepare loan files for closing, including reviewing legal documents for accuracy, calculating closing figures, and preparing any additional required documentation. 
  • Coordinate and execute loan closings and funding activities in accordance with established policies and procedures. 
  • Prepare loan booking packages and submit completed files to Loan Operations within three business days of closing. 
  • Process renewals, modifications and extensions for CRE and C&I loans, ensuring all required approvals and documentation are obtained. 
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation while adhering to regulatory requirements, internal controls, and audit standards. 
  • Communicate effectively with lenders, attorneys, title companies, borrowers, and internal departments to facilitate a smooth closing process. 

 REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Strong knowledge of commercial lending documentation, loan closing procedures, and title review processes. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies. 
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently while managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Responsible and reliable with a strong sense of ownership and accountability. 
  • Excellent organizational, time management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
