About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Anesthesiologist for a locum tenens position at a Hospital in New York. This 100-day assignment starts on 08/01/2025, with shifts beginning at 7 AM and variable end times, plus on-call responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a trauma center, providing inpatient care, epidurals, general anesthesia, and handling scheduled surgeries. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic hospital setting, potentially supervising CRNAs, and managing a variety of anesthesia cases. The physician will be responsible for patient care, pre-operative assessments, administering anesthesia, and post-operative monitoring.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:Ā 

• Provide comprehensive anesthesia care for a variety of surgical proceduresĀ 

• Perform pre-operative assessments and develop anesthesia plansĀ 

• Administer general anesthesia and regional nerve blocksĀ 

• Manage epidural anesthesia for appropriate casesĀ 

• Monitor patients during surgery and adjust anesthesia as neededĀ 

• Oversee post-operative care and pain managementĀ 

• Potentially supervise CRNAs in anesthesia deliveryĀ 

• Respond to trauma cases and emergency situationsĀ 

• Collaborate with surgical teams and other healthcare providersĀ 

• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using Epic EHR systemĀ 

• Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocolsĀ 

• Participate in on-call rotations, including nights and weekendsĀ 

• Stay updated on the latest advancements in anesthesiologyĀ 

• Perform other duties as assigned


Additional Information:Ā 

• Must be licensed to practice medicine in New YorkĀ 

• Experience with Epic electronic health record system preferredĀ 

• Strong clinical skills in general anesthesia and regional techniquesĀ 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a teamĀ 

• Excellent communication skills for patient care and team collaborationĀ 

• Flexibility to manage varying case loads and call schedulesĀ 

• Comfortable working in a trauma center environmentĀ 

• Possibility of assignment extension beyond the initial 100 days
