Maintain and advocate for a safe environment, follow infection control procedures,Ā participateĀ in qualityĀ improvementĀ and other regulatory standard protocols during patientĀ visitsĀ and report safety issues.Ā 

Participate in clinic flow,Ā assistingĀ with patient arrival, preparing patients for examination,Ā treatmentĀ and/or procedures, recordingĀ appropriate vitalĀ signs, and recognizing responding, and reporting abnormal findings or emergencies to theĀ appropriate medicalĀ provider.Ā Ā 

Prepare patients for examination,Ā treatmentĀ and/or procedures, record vital signs,Ā identifyĀ abnormalĀ valuesĀ and emergent situations.Ā 

Ensure continuity of care, comfort, efficiency, consistent communications, and an exceptional experience for every patient.Ā 

Administer prescribedĀ medicationĀ and/or vaccinations,Ā maintainĀ medicationsĀ andĀ demonstrateĀ proper storage, logs, or disposal of expired medications.Ā 

GatherĀ appropriate clinicalĀ documentation and obtain medical records when needed or requested by the medical provider.Ā 

Document clinical tasks,Ā testingĀ and procedures appropriately in theĀ patientĀ medical record and navigate electronic medical records to obtain records, update patient information, and schedule follow-up appointments.Ā Ā 

Collect specimens for testing and/or transport.Ā 

Maintain strict patient confidentiality and privacy of personal health information.Ā 

Obtain laboratory and radiology results, medical records, update patient demographic data, and gatherĀ appropriate clinicalĀ documentation.Ā 

Ensure patient safety, environmental, infection control, quality improvement and other regulatory standards and compliance; prepare safety reports and report safety hazards to appropriate personnel.Ā 

Initiate patient and family education usingĀ appropriate resourcesĀ and continuum of care services.  

Contribute to the team byĀ assisting others without being asked.Ā

Minimum:Ā 

Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana and as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.Ā 

Current American Heart Association BLS certification.Ā
