Compensation Range

The base pay scale for this position is $84,000.00 - $127,875.00. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.

What you will be doing

Job Description

  The Business Operations Manager is responsible for collaborating with physicians and their staff to ensure strategic initiatives are met through optimal physician practice performance. This role oversees day-to-day operations of the physician practices and maintains connectivity and alignment to overall Service Line goals.

The Service Lines Department is focused on strategic and operational support of the medical staff and their offices of these Services, collaboratively defining strategy, and executing operational initiatives to support strategic goals. To that end, the Business Operations Manager is responsible for managing daily physician practice processes which enable success of the strategic and operational goals of the Service.

The Business Operations Manager reports to the Director within relevant service line and will have direct supervisory responsibilities of office managers within relevant service line and indirect supervisory responsibility of all physician office staff.

Job Qualifications 

 

Education – Required  

 

Bachelor degree required 

 

Education – Preferred 

 

Master Degree preferred 

4+ years’ progressive experience in a hospital setting; advanced healthcare degree may be considered in lieu of experience requirements (e.g. MPH, MHA, MBA, etc.) 

 

Experience - Required 
 

Experience managing direct reports 

 

Skills – Required 

  • Superior oral, written and non-verbal communication skills; ability to forge and maintain strong professional relationships 

  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office, including: Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, Visio and PowerPoint 

  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously, often under a deadline in a fast-paced environment 

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented and pragmatic; a team player who is analytical and solution-focused 

  • Ability to prioritize issues, resolve conflicts and communicate with all levels of the organization 

  • Must possess ability to learn new software tools & systems as required on the job

Position Competencies:  

1. Administrative Leadership 

  • Coordinate Service Line and Office Manager meetings, agendas, and follow-ups. 

  • Oversee academic calendars, call schedules, and resident/fellow/attending assignments. 

  • Serve as liaison between service leadership, hospital administration, and other departments. 

  • Monitor daily operations for compliance, quality, and patient experience. 

  • Prepare reports, presentations, and analyses on performance, budget, and service outcomes. 

 

2. Physician Office Operations 

  • Manage physician practice schedules, templates, and timekeeping systems. 

  • Oversee office operations, ensuring compliance with workflows, policies, and key initiatives. 

  • Lead hiring, training, evaluation, and mentorship of physician office staff and managers. 

  • Conduct regular office check-ins, performance assessments, and improvement initiatives. 

  • Coordinate float/temp staffing and onboarding for all new hires. 

 

3. Marketing & Public Relations 

  • Collaborate with Marketing on media, advertising, printed materials, and website updates. 

 

4. Education & Training 

  • Support patient education programs and staff training initiatives. 

  • Manage academic calendars, conference schedules, and liaison work with the Education Department. 

  • Develop and distribute internal communications to staff and providers.
