About the Role 

The Manager of Site Merchandising serves as a champion of the customer site experience and is responsible for driving online business initiatives and visual merchandising strategies that increase website revenue, conversion, engagement, and product discovery for the Casual Seating and Lighting businesses. This role uses data, customer behavior, and cross-functional input to identify opportunities, reduce friction, and continuously improve the digital experience. 

 

This role has the potential to manage and develop at least one direct report and partners closely with Merchandising, Planning, Marketing, Creative, UX/Product, Analytics, Technology, Inventory Management, and Operations teams to deliver seasonal campaigns, category launches, promotions, and site optimizations on time and with accuracy. 

 

Responsibilities 

Site Merchandising & Category Ownership 

  • Lead the site merchandising strategies for Casual Seating and Lighting to support revenue, conversion, engagement, and product discovery goals. 
  • Own day-to-day category presentation across key onsite touchpoints, including category pages, search, navigation, product ranking, product storytelling, promotions, and seasonal launches. 
  • Lead execution of seasonal campaigns, promotional strategies, and category launches for assigned businesses, ensuring cohesive storytelling and premium product presentation by translating merchandising, marketing, and planning priorities into clear onsite experiences.

 

Analytics & Performance Management 

  • Analyze weekly business performance to ensure categories are merchandised to optimize revenue, conversion, customer engagement, and product discovery. 
  • Monitor key site metrics, including traffic, conversion funnel, product finding behavior, search/navigation performance, basket building, and promotional performance. 

 

Customer Experience & Optimization 

  • Champion the customer site experience and drive optimizations that reduce friction and make the shopping journey more intuitive and inspiring. 
  • Identify and prioritize site experience improvements through a systematic, agile, and test-and-learn approach. 
  • Partner with UX/Product, Marketing, Creative, Analytics, and Technology teams to support enhancements that improve engagement and business performance. 

 

Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership 

  • Represent the DTC/eCommerce customer experience in assortment reviews, seasonal planning meetings, and cross-functional business discussions. 
  • Build strong working relationships with Merchandising, Planning, Inventory Management, Marketing, Creative, Analytics, Technology, and Operations partners to ensure alignment and flawless execution. 

 

Criteria

  • 5+ years of eCommerce merchandising experience required.   

  • 1+ years of people management experience with demonstrated success developing high-performing teams.   

  • Experience managing holistic category businesses and seasonal campaigns within a fast-paced retail environment.   

  • Deep understanding of site merchandising strategy, customer journey optimization, and digital storytelling.   

  • Strong analytical skills with experience using web analytics platforms such as Adobe Analytics/SiteCatalyst.   

  • Solid business acumen with the ability to balance brand storytelling and commercial performance.   

  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, organizational, and project management skills.   

  • BA/BS degree required.   

  • This role requires being onsite in the Dumbo office Monday through Thursday and Friday as optional in the office
