Role & Responsibilities:

We are seeking a National Retail Director/Senior Director to help build David into a leading brand across the grocery channel.

This is a highly commercial role focused on growing David's business with national and regional grocery retailers. You will own key customer relationships, drive distribution gains, execute category reviews, negotiate trade spend investments, and help develop the strategy that expands David's presence across U.S. grocery customers 

Depending on level and experience, responsibilities may include:

1. Customer Ownership & Growth

  • Own relationships with key grocery retailers, both national and regional 
  • Drive distribution, shelf placement, promotional execution, and revenue growth across assigned customers
  • Lead line reviews, annual planning processes, and customer negotiations
  • Build strong relationships with buyers, category managers, brokers, and distributor partners

2. Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Partner with the VP of Retail to develop and execute customer specific growth plans
  • Identify opportunities through analysis of distribution, velocity, pricing, promotions, and competitive activity
  • Drive successful product launches, assortment expansions, and retail programs
  • Ensure strong execution at retail through broker and distributor management

3. Business Management & Analytics

  • Own customer forecasts, sales plans, and performance reporting
  • Ensure seamless execution supplying retailers with inventory by collaborating with the Supply Chain team and Sales Planning on demand forecast by SKU
  • Use syndicated and retailer data to identify opportunities and build compelling selling stories
  • Track key performance metrics including distribution, velocity, trade effectiveness, and revenue growth
  • 8+ years of experience in CPG sales, account management, category management, or commercial leadership
  • Experience working at or managing grocery retail accounts, either directly or through broker networks
  • Strong understanding of the grocery retail landscape and how decisions are made within major grocery chains
  • Experience using syndicated data sources such as Circana, Nielsen, SPINS, 84.51°, or retailer-specific reporting platforms
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Strong analytical and financial skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business recommendations
  • Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple priorities simultaneously
  • A builder who thrives in ambiguity, moves quickly, and takes ownership of outcomes

  • This is a full-time role.
  • Salary: $180-300k+ per year, inclusive of cash bonus based on attainment of company targets + company equity opportunity
