Job Description

Upright Citizens Brigade is looking to add a full-time New York-based Training Center Coordinator responsible for helping the Training Center and Theater run smoothly by assisting with various administrative duties. This job reports to the Head of Training Center Operations.

This job includes customer service responsibilities that ensure all students and visitors have a frictionless experience and a resource for solving any questions/concerns related to their classes.

This team member will often be the first line of contact for anyone who calls, or emails UCB or visits the training center in person. They will handle incoming phone calls and other communications, greet students or visitors, and manage training center records and paperwork. They will also perform other general office duties and errands when needed to aid in the overall operations.

The Training Center Coordinator will also provide administrative support to our Venue Team and Artistic Committee.

Most of this job will require being in person at our 14th Street location and will require runs and errands around the city. This role requires availability to work evenings and a few hours on weekends. They can expect to work roughly 40 hours per week.

Sample Duties/Responsibilities:

- Ensure Training Center space and facilities are clean, safe, and stocked daily.

- Monitor visitor and staff access to the Training Center.

- Greet students, visitors, and guests; determine the purpose of each person’s visit and direct or escort them to the appropriate location.

- Answer, screen, and direct emails to staff for training center and theater; take messages and schedule classroom and meeting space reservations.

- Receive mail, documents, packages, and courier deliveries and deliver or distribute items. 

- Serve as on-site safety compliance point of contact.

- Process student registrations and instructor class transfers. 

- Create student discount codes for shows and classes.

- Communicating with students regarding schedule changes, teacher changes, etc. 

- Ensure students and teachers have all documents and information needed before the first day of class; this includes building instructions, parking info, attendance sheets, etc.

- Draft and execute social media postings, newsletters, partnership outreach emails, research projects.

- Build training center classes and show events for the online calendar. 

- Occasional errands (i.e., office supplies and equipment)

- Perform administrative and clerical support tasks, including basic filing and recordkeeping.

- Perform other duties as directed by supervisor. 

Qualifications

- Experience with general office management/assistant duties

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

- Excellent customer service focus

- Strong organizational and multitasking skills

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace

 

Physical Requirements:

- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk as well as personal mobility require to complete physical errands.

- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds at times.
