Responsibilities

Function as an assistiveĀ person byĀ 

    • Protecting the patient from injury caused by extraneous objects and chemical, electrical, mechanical, and thermalĀ sourcesĀ 
    • Demonstrating safe operation of equipment machinery and follows procedures for reporting and correcting an unsafeĀ situationĀ 
    • Handling specimens according to facility policy and proceduresĀ 
    • Performing interventions to protect the patient fromĀ infectionĀ 
    • Assembling supplies andĀ equipment;Ā 
    • AssumingĀ an active role in assisting patient withĀ careĀ needs;Ā 
    • Proactively optimizes opportunities toĀ enhanceĀ flow and efficiencyĀ of theĀ center;Ā 
    • OrientingĀ patient toĀ environment;Ā Ā 
    • MaintainingĀ patientĀ normothermia;Ā Ā 
    • Assisting with patientĀ transfers;Ā 
    • Assisting throughout the facility in environmentalĀ cleaning;Ā Ā 
    • Protecting the patient’s rights, dignity, and privacyĀ 
    • Providing age-specific, culturally competent, ethical care within legal standards of practice.Ā 
    • Complying with Universal Protocol and facility site validation and time-out policy.Ā 
  • Provide hand-off report to other teammates that are accurate, concise and pertinent to the patient’s condition and response to care.Ā 
  • Clean and prepareĀ equipmentĀ according to manufacturer’s instructions for use.Ā 
  • Perform other duties asĀ assigned.

Qualifications

  • High SchoolĀ GraduateĀ orĀ equivalent.Ā 
  • Certified Medical AssistantĀ (MA)/NursingĀ AssistantĀ (CNA)/Patient CareĀ (PCT)Ā preferred.Ā Ā Ā 
  • Successful completion of BLS Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS certification.Ā 
  • Knowledge of medical terminologyĀ 

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:Ā Ā 

  • Physically demanding, high-stress environmentĀ 
  • Exposure to blood and body fluids, communicable diseases, chemicals, radiation, and repetitive motionsĀ 
  • Pushing and pulling heavy objectsĀ Ā 
  • Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patientsĀ andĀ equipmentĀ 
  • Manual and finger dexterityĀ Ā 
  • Hand eye coordinationĀ 
  • Standing and walking for extensive periods of timeĀ Ā 
  • Lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50Ā lbsĀ 
  • Corrected vision and hearing to within normal rangeĀ 
  • Working irregular hoursĀ Ā
