Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Payroll Manager to join our payroll team. This role will support the Senior Payroll Manager in overseeing payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. The Payroll Manager will play a key role in managing payroll activities and helping ensure weekly and bi-weekly deadlines are consistently met. This position follows a hybrid schedule. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Process payroll in UltiPro, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees and statutory agencies.
  • Process payroll changes and special transactions, including new hires, terminations, transfers, compensation changes, address and work location updates, and garnishments.
  • Resolve complex or sensitive payroll issues related to processing.
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate payroll reports.
  • Process special payrolls, including bonuses and year-end adjustments.
  • Partner with HR and Benefits to resolve employee pay inquiries.
  • Address employee payroll inquiries related to leave balances, direct deposit, garnishments, deductions, retroactive pay, and tax questions.
  • Support the resolution of escalated payroll issues, including inquiries from government agencies and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple priorities independently with strong attention to detail.
  • Assist in responding to payroll-related inquiries, providing guidance on garnishments, child support, IRS levies, and pay practices.

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.

 

Anticipated base salary range: $120,000 - $130,000

Actual base salary within the anticipated range will be determined by several components including, but not limited to, the individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and market factors.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or related field required.
  • 7+ years of multi-state payroll experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Experience with multi-company payroll structures (multiple FEINs/legal entities) preferred.
  • CPP or FPC certification strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. wage and hour laws, garnishments, and federal, state, and local tax withholding requirements.
  • Experience with UltiPro required.
  • Experience with IBM Cognos Business Intelligence preferred but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet strict payroll deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and complex formulas, to support payroll reporting and reconciliation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
