Position Summary

Concentra On-Site Occupational Medicine Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner 

 

Schedule: Monday - Saturday 6:30 AM - 3 PM / flexible days

Location: 343 Madison Ave, NYC

Salary Range: $170K - $185K PLUS Benefits! 

 

We are seeking an experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team at our client's on-site location.  The ideal candidate will have 2 years of experience as a PA/ NP within an urgent care, emergency medicine, occupational medicine, and/or family medicine environment.  In this role, you will be the only medical personnel and will be responsible for triaging work-related injuries, performing physicals and basic first aid, administering vaccinations, and maintaining employee health while working with our client to promote safety and wellness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Spends 100% of time in the onsite clinic providing direct patient care, leading by example, and creating an exceptional patient experience.
  • Ensures day-to-day execution of Concentra's clinical model collaborating with members of the healthcare team to drive optimal clinical outcomes.
  • Accountable for monitoring, understanding, and effecting key onsite clinic metrics that relate to quality outcomes.
  • Advanced Primary Care - chronic condition management, gaps in care, preventive health and age-appropriate screenings, vaccinations, SDOH, wellness initiatives, clinic utilization and patient satisfaction.
  • Occupational Medicine - timely return to work measures after an injury on the job, case duration, lost time, work duty status, reduction in work-related illnesses and improved functional capacity. 
  • Provides direct patient care through compilation of the medical history, conduction of the physical exam, diagnosis, and the development of appropriate treatment plans.
  • Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests.
  • Maintains timely, accurate and detailed patient records and paperwork.
  • Interprets diagnostic test results for deviations from normal.
  • Performs therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and managing infection.
  • Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens and health maintenance.
  • Listens to and understands internal and external client needs.
  • Assists in the development, implementation and revision of policies affecting medical practice judgment and quality of clinical care.
  • Assists in the development and presentation of education and instructional programs.
  • Provides excellent and compassionate customer service to all patients, clients and peers while incorporating Orange Book values.

 

Education/Credentials

Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree

Major:  

Degree must be from an accredited college or university.

Education Details: 

  • Bachelors’ degree in related health field from an accredited college or university
  • Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program)

Certifications and/or Licenses:

  • Passed the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE)
  • Current licensed physician assistant in the state where employed and in accordance with state laws of practice
  • Must maintain work state physician assistant licensure throughout the course of employment

Experience in lieu of required education is acceptable: No

Continuing education is required to maintain license and to perform job: Yes

 

Job-Related Experience

Customarily has at least the following experience:

3 years

  • Customarily has at least three years of demonstrated experience in occupational medicine, urgent care or an emergency setting

  • Knowledge of worker’s compensation and clinical procedures and all processes involved in the delivery of quality care.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated willingness to participate in Continuing Medical Education
