Job DetailsJob Location: Lincoln Square - New York, NY 10023Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $19.00 - $20.00 HourlyIntro/Program Description: Goddard Riverside is a well-established Manhattan community-based agency with an annual operating budget of approximately $50 million. Goddard Riverside is one of New York City’s leading human service organizations meeting the basic needs of children, youth and families, homeless people, and older adults across Manhattan and New York City.    Purpose of Position: Maintain cleanliness and overall appearance of buildings and grounds.    Schedule: 10:00 am to 6:00 pm                  9:00 am to 5:00 pm *Some evening and possible weekends required   Hourly Rate: $19.00- $20.00     Roles, Responsibilities and Essential DutiesRoles, Responsibilities and Essential Duties • Ensure maintenance and cleanliness throughout the building • Sweep and maintain cleanliness of entrances • Turn on and maintain cleanliness of air-conditioning units or heaters • Sweep and mop building including halls, classrooms, gym and office • Room set ups for daily activities and special events • Change trash liners and dispose of trash daily • Clean all bathrooms daily and windows regularly • Move furniture as needed • Inventory, storage and organization of cleaning supplies • Check all safety materials – Alarms, exit signs, outlets, etc. Report repairs as needed • Participate in staff meetings and professional development • Work with Maintenance Coordinator and Facilities Manager to ensure all areas are following city regulations • Secure facility, check all offices are closed and ensure lock-up of building at end of day • Follow “cleaning schedule run” • Respond to requests by program directors and coordinators • Other tasks as required    Qualifications/Educational Requirements: • Strong communication skills and ability to work as a member of a team • Must meet clearance requirements including Department of Education fingerprinting   Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: • Knowledge of operation of buffer machine   • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus   Physical Requirements: • Ability to lift 50 lbs • Ability to perform simple maintenance and repair Work Environment: • Indoor, some outdoor   The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of duties and responsibilities that will be required of this position and title and shall not be construed as a declaration of the specific duties and responsibilities of any particular position.  Employees may be requested to perform job related task other than those specifically presented in this description.
