The Practice Manager at the Hutch Breast Center is responsible for overseeing the daily operations to include but not limited to patient referral coordination across disciplines, patient flow and throughput. Manage clinic schedules to maximize efficiency and overall patient access. Administrative responsibility of the practice while supporting physician's clinical activities and ensuring high-quality patient care and patient experience. This position has the responsibility to manage the practice’s non-clinical activities, multidisciplinary patient coordination-approach, and monitor timelines of care. Work closely with the clinical teams to include Radiology and nursing leadership. Help implement new services, workflows, clinical programs, or new initiatives. Collaboration with surgery and surgical coordinators to ensure smooth coordination of care, OR optimization, and efficiency. 

 

This position serves as an operational lead in support of breast center accreditation initiatives including compliance with standards established by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) and all other applicable breast center regulatory initiatives. 

 

Responsibilities 

Maintaining policies and procedures necessary to demonstrate ongoing compliance with accreditation standards. Collaborates with physicians, nursing leadership, radiology, and all other departments to support multidisciplinary breast operations and quality initiatives. 

 

Monitoring monthly financial expenses and overall accountability according to the department's goals and approved budgets. 

 

Collaborates with Director and the Cancer Service Line (CSI) leadership to develop and implement strategic plans to promulgate a streamlined-team approach for Cancer Services, growth initiatives and integrated practice models in line with the organization's vision and mission. 

 

All human resources matters to include hiring, performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions, conflict resolutions, and termination coordination. 

 

Collaborate with senior leadership to improve productivity, quality standards, and community outreach opportunities. 

 

Collaborate with Revenue Cycle leadership to build inter-department relationships; ensure compliance with standard practices and hospital regulations. 

 

Analyze internal processes, plans, and implement procedural and policy changes to improve operations. 

 

Analyzes and allocates resources to ensure efficient and effective use of manpower, facilities and supplies. 

 

Facilitates creation of training programs and oversee training for staff to carry out departmental programs and services. 

 

Ensure standards and regulations of accrediting agencies such as Joint Commission and Department of Health (DOH) are met and in line with hospital guidelines. 

 

Facilitates quality improvement projects for highly efficient practice. 

 

Analyzes dashboard metric to optimize overall practices performance. 

 

Monthly reporting practice volume, co-payment and other financial metrics. 

 

Responsible for maintaining excellent patient service satisfaction-Press Ganey values and address all customer service reporting. 

 

Ability to rapidly adapt to environment changes, particularly during crisis. 

 

Ability to analyze complex and non-routine issues with creative solutions, operate effectively in a fast-paced environment and respond to change with flexibility to meet the demand of multiple deadlines.  

 

Demonstrate advanced leadership and managerial skills.  

 

Act as a liaison to other departments to promote the delivery of quality patient care. 

 

Involvement with community outreach programs and other projects as assigned. 

 

Qualifications 

Bachelor's degree Required, Master's degree Preferred 

5 years related work experience 

Knowledge of Software: Microsoft Office, HCM, SAP, EPIC 

Experience with Strata (financial reporting) Required
