Overview

The Microsoft AI Experiences (AIX) team ties together the signal of billions of users across Ads, Bing, Copilot, Edge, Xbox, LinkedIn, and third-party inventory so people are recognized and served as one user wherever they show up, with one identity, one consent state, and privacy policies that travel with them. Underneath sits an identity graph that has to stay precise, comprehensive, and usable for every product that reads from it. We are hiring two Principal Product Managers to help build the identity foundation behind Microsoft's consumer products.

As a Principal Product Manager on this team, your day-to-day will be more technical than most PM roles, and the ambition is company-wide, so the work runs through many organizations, each with its own roadmap, constraints, and incentives. The graph is being rebuilt around probabilistic methods, and new signal has to prove its quality and revenue impact before it ships. Your job is to hold the vision through all of that, turn it into a concrete multi-surface roadmap, and keep every stakeholder org aligned and moving. Success is shipped product that partner teams adopt because it's the fastest way for them to build well. You will own major parts of this roadmap end to end, from the graph's architecture and signal quality to the sign-in, consent, and transparency experiences built on top, and where you go deepest will depend on your background. You'll build deep identity, monetization, and AI product intuition, plus real judgment about the tradeoffs between coverage, precision, privacy, and company-wide coherence.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

Responsibilities
  • Set the product vision for a unified user ecosystem across Microsoft's consumer surfaces and own its surfaces end to end, from PRD through launch and iteration: graph architecture and modernization, signal integration, sign-in and consent pathways, and the transparency and controls users see.
  • Evaluate new signal on evidence, from Microsoft's own surfaces to partner data and third-party identity sources, sizing each for uplift and revenue impact and taking it to a ship or no-ship decision.
  • Define the metrics that describe the system (coverage, match rates, sign-in conversion, consent health, partner adoption) and design the experiments that tie changes to revenue and product outcomes.
  • Work daily with engineering and data science: translate requirements into architecture and design contracts, review the work in detail, and unblock delivery as the system evolves.
  • Build platform capabilities other teams adopt, meaning shared services, APIs, and defaults that make the aligned implementation the easiest one to ship, and keep partner roadmaps aligned by surfacing divergences early and driving them to decisions.
  • Keep privacy and compliance built in from the start: run data source audits and work through consent boundaries with privacy, legal, and policy partners so new signal and new experiences ship without regulatory surprises.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience shipping data-heavy consumer platform products: identity resolution, personalization, ads and monetization, measurement, or capabilities other teams build on.
  • Technical fluency across data pipelines, matching and graph architectures, APIs, and experimentation systems, enough to hold your own in design reviews.
  • A track record of using data, experiments, and quality metrics such as coverage, accuracy, and match rates to make roadmap and ship decisions.
  • The product sense to set direction for a multi-surface ecosystem, and the influence to bring senior stakeholders along and drive platform adoption.
  • Experience building consent, transparency, or user-control capabilities, and shipping identity or advertising products within privacy and compliance constraints.
