At Amazon Ads, we're re-imagining the advertising landscape through advanced generative AI technologies and AI agents, revolutionizing how millions of customers discover products and engage with brands online. As a Principal Technical Program Manager, you’ll lead large-scale technical programs that deliver forecasting and guidance experiences powered by machine learning and conversational AI. You’ll bridge engineering, applied science, and product teams to ensure advertisers have the tools to plan, optimize, and measure campaigns at scale—shaping the future of digital advertising.

Key job responsibilities
Own end-to-end program management for advertiser-facing forecasting and guidance experiences, including interactive planning surfaces and conversational AI tools, coordinating across multiple teams and organizational leaders.

Drive technical strategy and roadmap alignment across engineering, applied science, product, and business teams, sequencing dependencies and delivering against committed timelines.

Lead cross-functional teams through complex technical challenges in demand forecasting, recommendation systems, campaign management, and measurement.

Establish program governance, metrics, and reporting mechanisms to ensure visibility and accountability; define success metrics around coverage, adoption, engagement, accuracy, and business impact.

Identify, assess, track, and mitigate technical and operational risks across large-scale distributed systems, including calibration, monitoring, and rollback mechanisms required to safely ship machine learning-driven experiences.

Partner with engineering and applied science leaders to influence architecture decisions and plan the launch of model improvements into customer-facing surfaces.

Build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders across Amazon Ads and partner organizations, negotiating integration points where forecasting and guidance capabilities connect with shared advertiser surfaces.

A day in the life
Your day centers on driving large-scale technical programs that transform how advertisers interact with Amazon Ads. You’ll lead design reviews for conversational AI tools that help advertisers diagnose campaigns, conduct launch-readiness reviews for forecasting accuracy improvements, and unblock cross-team dependencies that integrate recommendations into partner-owned surfaces. You’ll draft risk narratives for business reviews and prepare presentations for VP-level leadership, translating technical insights into actionable recommendations. Throughout the day, you’ll connect insights across applied science, engineering, product, and design to ensure multiple workstreams align into one coherent customer experience.
