Product Support Sales Rep – Construction Equipment
 
Bronx, NY

Base Salary: $55,000/year 

Commission: Unlimited, uncapped—your performance directly drives your earnings 

Ramp Support: Potential for guaranteed, pre-paid commission during your first 12 months (tailored based on experience), providing added income stability as you build your territory

Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of related industry experience
  • Knowledge of the heavy equipment, construction, or equipment service industry highly preferred
  • Experience working in an outside sales, business development, or consultative sales role
  • Experience using a CRM system, and capable of learning new proprietary systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Clean and valid driver's license; regular travel throughout assigned territory is required

Responsibilities

Contribute to the Parts and Service Departments overall profitability by promoting department offerings that lead to increasing part products and service labor market shares 

  • Generate and submit written quotes developed from machine inspections 
  • Promote and utilize Caterpillar and Company merchandising programs
  • Assist in the development of new Parts and Service merchandising programs
  • Generate new sales opportunities by identifying new target accounts

Enhance Customer and Company relationships by contributing to the improvement of the customers quality of experience with the company

  • Assist customer in achieving the lowest operating cost by suggesting total repair solutions
  • Participate/contribute to CAT Care meetings and open houses
  • Perform customer training by utilizing key sales support materials
  • Coordinate shop repairs with company and customer personnel
  • Mediate customer and departmental disputes

Effectively manage territorial developments by communicating information between the Company, Caterpillar and the Customer

  • Communicate machine sales leads to the sales department
  • Maintain timely equipment population records by scheduling timely customer sales calls
  • Maintain knowledge of competitive pricing and offerings
  • Maintain knowledge of local business projects and trends
  • Submit lost sales reports

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of related industry experience
  • Knowledge of the heavy equipment, construction, or equipment service industry highly preferred
  • Experience working in an outside sales, business development, or consultative sales role
  • Experience using a CRM system, and capable of learning new proprietary systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods of time
  • Hand coordination (typing and writing)
  • Occasional forward bending and reaching
  • Occasional walking and climbing stairs
  • Carrying (up to 20lbs.)
