AbelCine is a full-service equipment and technology provider serving the broadcast, production, and new media industries. With offices in New York and Los Angeles, we support professionals through sales, rentals, training, financing, and technical services. Our mission is to provide creative solutions and expert guidance to the production community. We are currently seeking a Production Manager to join our fast-paced Production Services Department in our Brooklyn NY location.

Position Overview:

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Production Services (PS) team. This individual will manage production logistics, personnel scheduling, client communications, and workflow coordination while supporting the Director of Production Services in scaling department capabilities and client engagements. This is a fully on-site position based in our Burbank office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all active Production Services jobs, ensuring timely coordination and execution
  • Book and manage crew, schedule prep time, and coordinate interdepartmental logistics
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for PS clients, crew, and internal teams
  • Lead client calls, pre-production meetings, and post-job debriefs
  • Create and manage timecards for internal and freelance staff; coordinate payroll submissions with HR
  • Submit and track purchase orders; ensure timely payments to freelancers and vendors
  • Coordinate all production-related travel: flights, hotels, cars, per diems
  • Provide after-hours support and coordinate last-minute staffing as needed
  • Create budgets and proposals for client projects; lead client negotiations
  • Monitor and improve department workflows and operational efficiencies
  • Support the Director of PS in identifying growth opportunities and managing large-scale projects
  • Mentor and lead the PS Coordinator and technical team members

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Film, Media, Communications, Event Management, or equivalent combination of education, training and work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in production services, operations, or live event coordination, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
  • Proven track record as a coordinator, production manager, or producer within professional productions
  • Strong understanding of production logistics, including crew booking, equipment coordination, and shoot schedules
  • Experience processing timecards, POs, and payroll for internal staff and freelancers
  • Ability to coordinate production travel, including flights, accommodations, and per diems
  • Comfortable serving as the main point of contact for clients and crews, both on-site and remotely
  • Demonstrated ability to lead production calls, pre-pro, and post-job debriefs
  • Experience with budgeting, cost proposals, and client negotiations
  • Knowledge of crew roles, rates, and production equipment
  • Familiarity with interdepartmental coordination, especially with rental and engineering teams
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools
  • Experience with Production time-tracking systems (e.g., Wrapbook) is a plus
  • Ability to lead and mentor technical and administrative staff
  • Willingness to provide after-hours and weekend support as needed
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment with evolving production demands

Physical Effort:

  • Prolonged sitting and standing work at a computer, requiring frequent use of monitors
  • Manual dexterity and mobility required
  • Standing and walking for the duration of the work shift
  • Occasional reaching, bending, kneeling, and crouching
  • Occasional lifting or moving supplies and equipment weighing up to 25 lbs., including items located above shoulder level

Status: Full-Time, On-site, Exempt

Compensation Range: $80,000–$115,000/year
