Overview

The Professional Development Coordinator will be a key member of the Firm’s Global Professional Development team. Reporting to the Senior Professional Development Manager, the position will support the coordination, execution, and participant experience of the firm’s Milbank@Harvard program, the U.S. first-year and lateral mentoring programs, and the professional development programs for global business services professionals. This role requires exceptional organization, strong attention to detail, polished client service, and the ability to support and host high-quality learning and development programs.

Responsibilities

Reporting to and working closely with the Senior Manager of Professional Development and other colleagues, the Professional Development Coordinator’s responsibilities include:

  • Provide day-to-day coordination and logistical execution for Milbank@Harvard, Learning@Milbank (business services learning), and U.S. mentoring programs, including managing participant rosters, distributing materials, and coordinating communications.
  • Serve as a secondary point of contact for Milbank@Harvard logistics; attend programs and act as a program host alongside other team members, helping ensure programs run smoothly, participants feel supported, materials are prepared, and issues are addressed promptly and professionally.
  • Coordinate internal communications, including updating the intranet and internal calendars.
  • Research and write content on professional development topics and resources for the internal blog, under the supervision of the Director and Senior Manager.
  • Coordinate external vendor contracts and invoices under the supervision of the Director and Senior Manager.
  • Draft, proofread, format, and distribute polished program communications, reminders, surveys, and updates under the direction of the Director and Senior Manager.
  • Organize and attend internal associate focus groups, compile and analyze feedback, and recommend program improvements.
  • Schedule and coordinate logistics for training programs, including booking conference rooms, arranging technical needs and catering, tracking attendance, preparing materials, greeting participants, and troubleshooting day-of-program needs.
  • Process CLE credits in the tracking system and maintain accurate, organized online program files.
  • Manage learning subscriptions for e-learning platforms.
  • Maintain accurate trackers, timelines, rosters, attendance records, program files, and follow-up lists to ensure program details are current, complete, and easy to access.
  • Support mentoring programs by managing regular communications, such as monthly program updates and periodic surveys.

Compensation: -The anticipated base salary range offered for this role will be between $65,000 - 75,000 and represents the firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible base compensation. Actual base compensation will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, performance, qualifications, degrees, and location, well as the needs of the firm.

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • A client-service mindset including responsiveness, professionalism, discretion, and follow-through.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to draft and proofread polished program communications and department newsletters.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Strong technology skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) Knowledge of viLMS a plus.
  • Confidence supporting live programs and events, including welcoming participants, troubleshooting logistics, and representing the team professionally.
  • Sound judgment, flexibility, and a calm, solutions-oriented approach when handling last-minute changes or competing priorities.
  • Availability to work overtime as needed and willingness to travel to Harvard University for several days, up to five times a year (all reasonable expenses paid).
