About the Role:
Green & Cohen PC is seeking a skilled Real Estate/Landlord & Tenant Attorney to join our dynamic legal team in New York, NY. Responsibilities:
  • Represent landlords and/or tenants in Housing Court proceedings, including eviction and non-payment cases
  • Draft, review, and negotiate leases, purchase agreements, and other real estate contracts
  • Handle residential and commercial real estate transactions from contract to closing
  • Advise clients on landlord-tenant disputes, rent stabilization, and rent control matters
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, motions, and pleadings
  • Manage a caseload independently while maintaining clear client communication
  • Stay current on New York real estate law, housing regulations, and court procedures
Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active New York State Bar admission in good standing
  • 1–5 years of experience in real estate law, landlord-tenant law, or related practice area
  • Familiarity with New York City Housing Court procedures and practices
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and litigation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
